An experimental, horror visual novel about raising a virtual pet. Help a tamagotchi-like creature navigate his angst. We love Momo!

EXTREMELY WORTH IT. You get your own Momo, a kind of droid/virtual pet that grows depending on how you raise them. It’s like Tamagotchi made into a visual novel. I really liked how abstract it is. You never really know what is just part of a weird dream and what is actually a display of reality. You can get really attached to your Momo, and I appreciated the fact that you can
even become one with Momo, literally. The best part, though, is the true ending: finally finding the bunker that was talked about since the very first minute of the game. It was quite an experience
. Definitely recommending it. It’s a good emotional story, and the different endings really change your experience. I liked having deja vu and seeing remnants of my actions reflected in future playthroughs. The game is not really a scary horror, but more of a thriller that is trying to pressure you mentally.
Your company saddled you with mandatory program of taking care of new test toy/pet - a physical creature capable of groving and evolution, with an AI that unquestionably loves you. What could go wrong? Momotype dances the line between a visual novel and interactive fiction, with its minimalistic design giving the game great appeal and few choices providing such different consequences to various scenarios (even if a lot of things play the same visuals) that it has great replayability. It is fairly short, but it utilizes its premise to tell its story and raise a lot of classic science-fiction questions about what it actually means to be human, the evolution of AI, problem of free will, or the idea of identity. It could be compared to classic works of Isaac Asimov, especially his Robots series, with a slighter edge over them in how easy is to establish emotional connection between the audience and its central character, due to Momo being just adorable. Three playthroughs, while making different choices to get true ending, should easily fit in free two hours, making it great when you have just that much time to kill. I should warn you that if you love pets or plushies or tamagochi, you may feel distraught for angst of Momo in some variation of playthroughs, and some of Momo's struggle could trigger people dealing with body dysmorphia. I still recommend it, a great example of how a short story format can evolve to be more interactive thanks to the medium of video games.

Do you love Momo? Momo already knows the answer.
Sanal bir evcil hayvan yetiştirmeyi konu alan deneysel, korku dolu görsel bir roman. Tamagotchi benzeri bir yaratığın endişesini gidermesine yardım edin.
The writing in this interactive book is the kind that will make me keep an eye out for anything else the author puts forward for years. They proved themselves able to make something good, something moving, and something complete.
Weird game. Very. but somehow still fun to play.
This game is phenomenal and idk how more people aren't talking about it! Its insight into the mind and what it means to be human is spectacular! I made a deep dive about the game here! https://youtu.be/dwQspbyrk7E?si=jRCfbbFuO0flUeN9
One of the only VN games that have made me want to get something to do with it tattooed on my body, 9.5/10 (text gets a little hard to read w the color scheme)
