Mind Portal

I reviewed this game a couple of years ago. Now I decided to give it another chanes, perhaps it would have grown on me. Spoiler: it didn't. The level design is interesting. Yet, some levels are designed better than others. In most of them there is no clear indication where you have to go. This is especially problematic in level 6. In addition it is imprtant to note that you can softlock yourself! Some textures are rendered incorrectly: @maker RECALCULATE NORMALS! The controls in the puzzles are wacky making them infuriating at times. The story is rather boring in my opinion. The dialogue between levels takes too long. The game is on the one hand a walking simulator and on the other hand a parcour/puzzle game. The puzzles are repetitive and anoying. During the first couple of levels you could interact with some envirnment elements. They just give a textbox. It would have been nice to be able to explore the levels more and to interact more with the envirnment. This could support the story and make it more interesting. I believe this game has potential. The art style is nice. The desinger clearly put effort in this game; yet it needs a lot more polishing and extra more diverse content. Should you buy this? It's only 80 cents so nothing to dramatic. I think it's a fair price for a game of about 3 hours. Would I play this again? No.
