Metonymy follows the story of Colin, Enoch and Tracy as they travel across a dystopian version of limbo filled with a corrupt theocratic government known as the Choir and the unbreakable hordes of the disease that appose them.

This student project has gorgeous design, but unfortunately that's backed up with game-play that flips between confusing or broken.

Worked absolutely great on my i5. Loved playing the game, but yet as soon as I try to run it on an i7 laptop, it continuously crashes. Won't even get past the boot screen. I've tried all the settings to no avail. Help. This was a great game.

Good art, tricky to get into and play though, if you're still working on it id love to help in any way I can.
Beautiful game. Would love a more sophisticated and longer version.
One of the most interesting and cinematic pieces of art I've experienced in a long time. The voice acting can be kind of hit or miss sometimes but overall its really good. I especially enjoyed the art direction. The animation is kind of clunky sometimes but the character models and environmental design were extremely provocative and engaging. I especially enjoyed the character design, Enoch looks so cool. There are parts of the game that are somewhat slow because you're just walking and waiting for the characters to start talking, especially the first gameplay segment. The biggest drawback for me is the lack of any significant interactivity with the game. I believe it is stated somewhere that this game is a demo, and that makes a lot of sense considering how this game's story just plops you in the center of it. Despite that, the game does a fine enough job at bringing you up to speed, telling us who the good guys and bad guys are, and giving us little hints at the broader story going on here. I was very disappointing at the fact that the "final boss" is just a cutscene. The game advertises its rhythm game combat but there's no actual gameplay, even if it looks like there is- its just a bunch of arrows going into place. It feels kind of misleading, especially since there is very little information about the fact that Metonymy in its current form is a 30 minute demo as opposed to a full game- though it is free so I guess I can't be too upset. Judging it as a standalone piece of art rather than the demo that it evidently is, Metonymy is a really interesting experience with a lot of really impressive visuals and clear understanding of the medium. I really wish there was more to this game because the world-building is very interesting, though this was released in 2017 and sadly the developers website doesn't appear to be active anymore. If the idea of being dropped in the middle of a very interesting world and story with no context sounds intriguing to you, I think this game is worth giving a try.
it is extremely unclear on where to go at the start of the game and the constant changing of camera angles is annoying, i got past guessing who sits on the throne after reading the lore from the statues and after another cut scene the controls got all messed up and then after that the room goes dark and you're just walking in the dark no idea where your character is (if you can even call him your character as its a completely different one from the opening cut scene) maybe i would recommend the game if it was more complete.
Great visual style
