About
Rosewall’s strength has always come from its people. Who better to run a city than the people who built and live in it? As a new face in town, you’ll have to find your own path while confronting the costs, hidden and real, of doing things the old way.
Single-player, story-driven experience set in a fantasy world where weapons and war are a thing of the past.
Your own shop with views of your storefront and workshops that can also be customized with décor sets.
Manage your employees and keep up with a busy calendar of events.
A colorful cast of NPCs keep you on your toes; each of you employees have a unique story to tell, as well as passive bonuses to help your shop grow.

In Merchants of Rosewall, you’ll set up your own shop and fill it with what the citizens of Rosewall desire. You’ll need plenty of resources, long days of work, and a crew of talented and creative Companions to help you succeed in the cultural and commercial hub of continent of Belvedera, where weapons have been made illegal and war is a thing of the past.
To keep up with the quotas set by Estoq Trading Company, you’ll have to use your profits to bring in even more resources and employees to maintain your shop’s profits. Invest in your Companions and learn their stories to unlock new recipes and game-changing perks.

As you settle into your rhythms, you'll face all kinds of challenges—fickle clients, stingy suppliers, personal dilemmas from your staff, demanding bosses, and more—that could change how you see the city, your shop, and the world.
As you grow your shop, stories from the past will shape the relationships you form and the choices you make. Finding the best folks to hire is only the first step: You’ll need to look to Rosewall’s Orcs, Giants, Elves, and more to get ahead of the curve.

Through nuanced and complex conversations with dozens of unique characters, players will choose what products to make based on available supplies, customer demand, and the skill of their Companions. Fulfilling a large order can be good for your pocketbook, but what if a sudden change in the weather causes the cost of your go-to ingredients to skyrocket? All the while, you’ll unravel a mystery that could impact everyone—including you, your customers, and your Companions—in Rosewall.

I'm giving it a thumbs up I'd wait to purchase. There seems some pretty big bugs right now. During saving the game locked in an infinite loop. Others have stated they had similar issues elsewhere. The demo worked fine when I played it. Overall it's fun. Seems like it'll be well worth it once a few bugs are ironed out.
Like the game so far but there's a bug that made the game freeze my entire PC. Happened to me twice and saw I'm not the only one affected so big BEWARE until there's a patch.
Solid game! A few technical kinks to iron out still, but the devs definitely seem to be jumping on any issues pretty quickly to fix them up. The gameplay leaves a lot of room to work out how to maximize shop efficiency and plan out your business week, which I like a lot in games like this, and while it presents you with good challenges to meet and does have points where you can fail, it never feels stressful to meet the goals set so long as you're not just going into each day without mapping it out. Definitely going to be a 100% achievement game for me, I'm digging it!
So, I like a lot about this game. The story, the art, the cast. The base gameplay is fine, but there is actually less crafting/selling in the game than I expected, and only being able to keep so many things at the end of the given week really makes me reluctant to try to build stuff up to create higher tier items, especially since so far I haven't seen any reason I can't just focus on the base items and clear things with ease. But as I said the story, art and cast are solid, and kept me wanting to play more despite one big flaw that I have to mention, and that's the bugs. I was streaming the game and I didn't notice the memory leak going on and I actually locked up my computer in the first hour of my stream, because the game quadrupled memory use and skyrocketed the cpu usage. It seems to be something related to saving. My saving was lingering and just staying there and didn't clear until I hit save again, but by that point he game had bloated and yeah. I restarted and kept going and avoided manually saving and eventually I had a night that the next day info didn't pop up, and then noticed while I sat there the resources the game was using was ticking up slowly. I could close it and continue, but if I did that resource tick up continued going. Ultimately it became a game of just monitoring the game usage of stuff and whenever it got so high I knew that I needed to reset the game. Unfortunately a few times I pushed it too much and the game wasn't able to save so I had to redo some stuff. Now I'm still recommending the game because everything else they have is a good time, and despite this I still want to play more. I love the art, the characters are fun, and I'm curious to see where the story goes. The crafting loop is different than I expected, but still enjoyable as well. It's a new release, and bugs are bound to happen, so I'm just going to have faith that they will fix whatever is going on. It might take some time. They are a small team and tracking down such a bug can be tricky in general, but ideally within the next few months the bug is fixed and I can wholeheartedly recommend the game. As it is, I only recommend it if you can handle dealing with such a bug. Oh, and just of note I was playing the game on windows 10 with 32gb of ram, and a 3060TI video card. The game key was provided through the DareDrop program, which is just a program that challenges streamers to dares and in no other way sponsers them, so this review is strictly my own views.
As of right now there is a bug that at least for me, when you click continue, you get a letter saying you failed, except I didn't because I hit the renown goal. You can fix it by clicking load game, but it shouldn't be an issue?
I initially played the demo for this during Next Fest, and found it incredibly difficult the first few days trying to figure out the mechanics of the game. However, by the end of that demo week, I felt a lot of potential to succeed in the game. I wanted to try the demo again but unfortunately didn't have time before Next Fest ended. However, Dare Drop reached out to me about it and I took the opportunity. I played it on stream for about 5 hours and noticed that there seems to be a memory leak in the game. I had to restart the game 3 or 4 times to reset it back to using 7GB instead of the 32GB of RAM it peaked at. Needless to say, it was a little frustrating. Aside from the RAM usage issues and minor typos, I really enjoy the mechanics of this game! I love management games, but haven't played many where you have so limited actions per day and have to plan ahead by quite a long shot. By the demo, I wasn't expecting much of a story, but what I've seen so far has kept me very interested. I'm looking forward to playing more of this game, but I highly request the devs fix the memory leak. Until then, I can't stream it without pulling everyone completely out of immersion every hour or so.
This creative shop simulator surprised me with its worldbuilding and storytelling! The cast of characters are unique and have really well-done designs. The choices you make feel impactful with the core gameplay loop & mechanics and the story progression seems solidly paced. I recommend sinking your teeth into Merchants of Rosewall! I played on Steam Deck (docked mode) and it ran very smoothly especially for launch day.
There was an update today that has fixed the problems I was having previously. This is a very fun game. The narrative is solid, and there is a ton of depth to running the store. You have a lot to consider as far as what to do with your crafters, what and how much of things you buy, etc. The one thing I wish is that there was a sandbox mode.
