Game is fun
Not for everyone, but still awesome!
One of the true great legacy games. Never gets old. Very generous, low price point game. You seriously don't need any money to have a lot of fun playing this game.

I have been playing since release and hear are my current thoughts: Maps are boring and not well designed with bad hitboxes. Also when will we actually get new maps not this release of old ♥♥♥♥ maps crap. PGI keep adding pay to win Mechs and take to long to fix the balance issues. In the capture the objectives mode assults are ♥♥♥♥ at capping as they are to slow and you might wipe a team only to loose to being capped out because you are to slow to get to the cap points. You should be able to have a drop deck so whichever map you get you can adjust based on the map. (Every time i get Alpine Peaks in a close range brawler I want to just quit the match). Their is no incentive to do faction play. Also Faction play is boring with highly repeditive gameplay. I am playinbg this game less and less as the game modes are boring and dont inspire creative gameplay. The maps are not well made and just incentivise meeting in the middle and just shooting at each other. I expect this game to die in the next couple of years unless bnig changes are made.
I only vote for Terra Therma.
MechWarrior Online is big stompy robot warfare at its finest, and Dire Wolf is king. There are games where you dance around, play delicate little mind games, and pretend finesse matters. Then there is MechWarrior Online, where the correct answer is usually more armor, more guns, more heat management, and MOAR DAKKA. The Dire Wolf is an absolute monster. It is not subtle. It is not graceful. It does not care about your feelings, your flanking plan, your light mech zoomies, or your tragic little attempt to trade damage like this is a gentleman’s duel. The Dire Wolf shows up like a walking weapons platform with religious certainty and asks one question: “How much firepower is too much?” And the correct answer is: “Coward. Add more.” There is something deeply satisfying about piloting a giant slab of Clan engineering into battle and deleting problems through volume of fire. Lasers are fine. Missiles are fine. But ballistic dakka has a language all its own. It speaks in recoil, thunder, shredded armor, and enemy pilots suddenly realizing they made a serious life mistake. Dire Wolf for the win. This game scratches that old BattleTech itch perfectly. Massive machines. Brutal trades. Positioning. Heat. Armor facing. Weapon groups. Team pushes. Bad calls. Glorious last stands. That wonderful moment when your mech is half-dead, your armor is gone, alarms are screaming, and you still somehow core out the enemy because your guns still work and spite is a valid combat doctrine. And yes: Death to the usurper and the Great Houses. The Inner Sphere can keep its politics, throne drama, noble bloodlines, succession wars, and bargain-bin feudal nonsense. Clan steel is the answer. Clan firepower is the argument. The battlefield is the courtroom, and the Dire Wolf is both judge and executioner. MechWarrior Online is not perfect. It can be clunky. The learning curve can be brutal. Sometimes the matchmaker feels like it was assembled by a drunk technician in a collapsing dropship. But when the battle kicks off and the big machines start moving, none of that matters. Because then the armor starts cracking. The autocannons start roaring. The battlefield turns into smoke, lasers, missile trails, and panic. And somewhere in the middle of it all, a Dire Wolf is doing exactly what it was built to do: standing tall, eating damage, and returning fire with absolutely unreasonable enthusiasm. MechWarrior Online is loud, heavy, brutal, nerdy, tactical, and glorious. 9/10. Dire Wolf supremacy. Death to the usurper. Death to the Great Houses. Moar dakka forever.
