MechAvenger, insanlığın sonu sonrasında robotlarla savaşmayı konu alan hızlı tempolu bir VR nişancı ve platform oyunudur. Düşman sürüsüne ateş edin, yumruk atın, zıplayın ve tırmanın ve fabrikalarını kapatın.

really bad controls
"MechAvenger" is a rather mediocre VR tech demo, a simple first person platformer shooter with a robot theme. Gameplay involves waving your arms around in VR to shoot other robots, do some platforming, and there's a little grappling hook mechanism. This kind of game can work when coupled with good narrative and exceptional, high quality technical delivery, all of which are absent here, leading to this failing on Steam. In terms of visuals, this features fairly low quality low poly 3D graphics which will deter a lot of gamers, understandably. Gaming is a visual medium, and while some developers struggle with creating high quality visuals, failing to do so is a disservice to gamers. It's very difficult to recommend bad looking games. It's VR exclusive, and that shows the developer failed to understand the most basic axiom of VR game design... if the only cool thing about your product is VR support, your product is not cool. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. This is "free" enough (not every "free" game in the "free" section is truly free, there's usually some hidden price tag), at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good, and the cost of a game is more than just financial, your time is valuable too. In terms of public reception, this failed. There's over 130 million unique gamers visiting Steam every month. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 2 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? What's the verdict? This is a hard pass. There's no immediate financial commitment, but there are thousands of more compelling games on the platform that will give you a lot more enjoyment for your time.

I'd love to be able to see the rest of this game but the thing that made me stop and uninstall immediately was the climb controls in the tutorial. I should not have to juggle several control memories just to jump across a beginner gap and hope I fling off the right way and hope the engine decides I went the right way. It's like balancing a bowling ball on a needle. The rest of the game seems to be mostly fine, although I'm not too particular about the out of view holsters on the shoulders where I have to hit the "reload?" button to grab the weapon. This game needs some work but maybe if I'd skipped the tutorial, I would have seen more but it's a bit disheartening if I can't make a simple jump and grab a wall to progress in the tutorial, how are the levels going to be? No thanks. I'll come back in a year or two.
