Incredible high action Competitive Mecha PvP & PvPvE game ! All the Strikers look fascinating, and I know their abilities well. However...throughout all my time playing this I've only actually ever played Falcon. What a dream it is to play a Transformers Starscream type of character in a competitive ranked shooter game. The other Strikers look fun, but I'm addicted to Falcon!! There are a ton of modes (pvp ranked + extraction), customization, marketplace to sell items for in-game currency, plenty of seasonal events and exclusive unlocks. You do have to grind through bots to rank up, but once you play with some human beings it's a once in a life-time experience. Mecha BREAK is free, play it already!

The mechs are cool and the combat is fast, fluid, and fun. I really enjoy the fact that it's not pay to win or pay for power. Everyone is on an even playing field in the competitive modes. It's a great dynamic that I wish more games would adopt.
Not launching in Linux.
I picked up this game a year after release. As far as I can tell, most people consider it a dead game. Well, it may be on life support, but it's not dead and I hope it doesn't die. The truth is that this is a pretty fantastic game. If you're looking for a game that merges a Gundam-esque theme with Overwatch style gameplay, you've found it. I'll break down my experiences into some pros and cons for you to consider if it's right for you:
Pros

The visuals are phenomenal
They nail the aesthetic of Gundam-like mechs. The particle effects are well done, and the environments are generally well constructed to place you in the themes of the shows and games many have enjoyed before.
The gameplay is sharp
Abilities feel crisp and movement feels reliable. Certain mechs aren't just fast, but feel fast. Abilities that provide indicators before delivery do a good job of cutting through the chaos to give everyone time to react, allowing for counterplays. Timing of abilities feel like they keep the pace of the battle flowing well. I also like that there aren't a million different crowd control effects that last too long. What exists is disruptive without being overbearing.
The customization is deep
I love that I can customize my mech's colors across so many areas, making it feel unique and fresh. It gives me something to do when I'm waiting in queue. The pilot is pretty goonin', but the same is still true. This is something I've come to appreciate over time.
Cons

The menus are messy
There's just too many menus and places to click. You also go down chains that you'd expect to link back on their own, but don't. It's a minor thing, but one you notice and feel frustration with. It's the result of a game that seemed like they had developers come up with good ideas and slammed them into the game without cohesion, resulting in menu hell in some cases. For the most part, this is a minor gripe, but enough time spent and it wears you down.
Bots in matchmaking
This sounds like it was a contributing cause of the game's decline, but became a necessary evil with just 1,300 active people. However, the game does everything it can to mask whether or not you're partied with or against bots. It does this to hide the fact that the game is kinda empty. The frustration with this is that sometimes the bots are really good and other times they're absolutely braindead. Some modes like Ace Arena seem to amplify this. If they're going to keep the bots in matches, then they need to improve the consistency of the AI. Do the challenge missions as a new player and you'll discover that the bots can be challenging!
Ranks need to be reduced
There's just too many of them with no point. It isn't until you reach grand master that you can only be paired with humans, which actually becomes detrimental due to the volume of people playing (so sad). You go through a somewhat lengthy climb just to arrive at a point where ranked leads to super long queues. You end up just running casual mode most of the time.
Currencies are confusing
Because the game also has in-game purchases and pve modes, there are other currencies that I don't even understand. The game doesn't do a good job of explaining things here or helping to get me involved in the pve side of the game. It feels pretty half baked, and the marketplace where you list off stuff feels extremely incomplete. It's like they have the elements for a foundation, but nothing actually put together for a well-rounded player experience.
Fries in the basket
This game is just fun. It's been an absolute blast getting some buddies together and experiencing it as a group. We've had such a great time and we'd love to see more people join in. We live in a time where we expect games to be better than this, but it's often the window dressing that we make a big deal about. The core aspects of the game are great, and worth seeing succeed. I'm kinda shilling the game a bit because the potential for greatness is all right there. IF they pump the right modes and cut the fat, relaunch to bring in fresh blood, I think we'd have the mech game many of us wanted and didn't know it. Give it an honest try, but grab 1-2 friends.
