Long Time ago, when i was a Child my favourit Hobby always was writing Storys and then reading Comics. On the third Position was something, that i`m also still loving. Puzzles. Everytime it was a Joy to open a new puzzlebox. Sitting on the Floor and getting all the pieces out of the Box and sorting them into 2 Cluster. The ones from outside and the ones from inside the Puzzle. Sometimes i used bowls sorting them into more clusters. And everytime, yes everytime im doing the outside first, before getting inside the Puzzle. I think most people do this, too. And it always was a wonderfull moment when you put in the last piece and got it finally Ready. Maybe after hours, days or sometimes weeks. But the completing Moment was always special. And that feeling gave me MASTERS OF PUZZLE, because i can do EXACTLY everything i described you before. Don`t get me wrong, there are many good Puzzle Games out on Steam, but this is really special. Most Puzzle Games are simple done. Pieces are mostly in right direction, only just to put in easily for example. That is totally okay, that is puzzling, too and it is relaxing. So, what is special. At first MASTERS OF PUZZLE is old school and realistic. You have a table and you have a puzzle Box. You can move the Box all over the Table and open it. Features allow you to take one Piece after another or more Pieces, ready to sort them. You can also get bowls for your help and these bowls are moveable with the pieces inside. Just like at home. The Pieces are in random positions, so you have to turn them. At the End of your Table is a picture of the puzzle you are doing. You can get it always in front and you can also work with a magnifying Glass. And sometimes you will need it, because the Pictures in MASTERS OF PUZZLE are really special. Most of them are free, some are DLC. After a short thinking i bought „In Serenity“ for 4,99 Euro and it was really worth the Price. A wonderfull painting, highly detailed and absolutly high Quality. I played many Puzzle Games and i liked most oft hem, but i never saw something amazing like this. The Developer did a very great Job with this masterpiece. The Handling is very easy and there is a very good tutorial that shows you everything you need to know. What more can i say? It feels good to come home, sitting down, continue the Puzzle unhurriedly, beeing patient, saving, when you have enough for the day, simply just like a real puzzle. So, if you want to puzzle on your screen, like you did in Real Life, if you like High Quality Paintings and Pictures, then this is for you. A big thanks tot he Developer for giving me back the „Real Puzzle“ Feeling and thank you dear Readers for reading. I was left kinda perplexed as to how I was feeling with this puzzle game. For starters, the plus side is the beautiful graphics of the puzzles and the game itself. This is what drew me to purchase it to begin with. The idea of immersively digging thru a tin of puzzle pieces is interesting. This is where my praise of this product ends. First off, right at the start I was put off by the game "knowing" my steam account name and using it without my ever having "filled out a form, or game name". I felt a tad intruded upon by the games having snooped my account to get my name without me being aware of any permission I had given them to muck about in my business so to speak. It makes me wonder what all info they take from you account. Granted when I started the game it said I needed an account, and I click download anyway figuring the normal proceedure of filling out a registration form. That never happened, they just mucked about in my info and got it on their own. Sorry to say, this did not leave a good taste in my mouth, but by this point I figured I had gone this far so would check out the puzzle... After alittle over half an hour into it, I had to rage quit it. I seriously was thinking of asking for a refund for the first time ever on steam. It took me 28 mins to painfully click and drag each piece slowly (painfully slowly) around in the tin looking for the edge pieces. Then trying to assemble them was a nightmare. First off I was constantly trying to use the R key to rotate them which would be logical, but instead had to keep using the Z & X keys to rotate the pieces. You then have to manuver the piece with absolute precision to the other piece and drop it in place with multiple attempts to get it just right for it to snap in place. Normally putting puzzles together is a mindless relaxation for me, this was pure frustration inducing. I really wish I could say I reccomend this game because the graphics are so nice, and the concept intriging, but alas I can not at this point. I would reconsider if they fix a few things, first and foremost, don't snoop a persons account, have them fill out a form properly where they knowingly consent. Other suggestions would be use the R key to rotate the pieces, loosen up the requirements to snap a pice in place, and lastly maybe have a way to dump the puzzle pieces out on the table much like you would IRL.
A jigsaw puzzle program for the serious puzzler. Beautiful classical Art and holiday themed challenges. This is a EA program and still has some features to be added and you can run into some bugs, however the Developer is very involved and quickly responds to your concerns. There is a bit of a learning curve but nothing that shouldn't be clear after the first puzzle or two. This is not for the person looking for an hours entertainment. These puzzles are challenging and time consuming. They can take up to an hour or more just unloading the Puzzle box and organizing depending on the number of pieces you select. I have 192 hours logged as of this review and highly recommend this program.
Simply the best...
This game brings a whole new take on the jigsaw puzzle theme, and attempts to recreate the true 3D feel of a puzzle board, including the box and all the pieces modeled as you would pick them up by hand, rotate them, and place them. Full keyboard control makes it very easy to move around (WASD and other natural key settings). The game is in EA so it's understood that many features are still in development, but what is there on day one can already keep one entertained for very long, since there's the option to play the puzzles also with very large numbers of pieces. Surely a project that deserves support!
This is the only good jigsaw puzzle game. Last Christmas I did a few jigsaw puzzles at the parents house, and thought, if only I could do this without taking up all the physical space. To my disappointment, most jigsaw puzzle games were apparently made by people who have never solved a jigsaw puzzle in real life, lacking good tools to sort pieces. Masters of Puzzle is the exception. It lets you shuffle pieces around in a box, and sort them into bowls at the press of a button. You can grab pieces by the handful and spread them around the generous table space. Although the shapes of pieces are less distinctive than I would like, it is at least possible to match pieces by shape. Unlike other games, solving a 1000 piece puzzle in this game is actually tenable. My biggest complaint is about the selection of available pictures. While there are more than I have time to do, they seem to fall in a narrow range of styles, and often containing large planes of a single color. I suggest that the developers check out other styles adopted by modern jigsaw puzzles, and include more intricate designs in future updates.
This is on of the most expensive puzzles games i have purchased. I initially didn't mind paying the £20 for the game since it looked like it was going to be one of the best created jigsaw puzzle games i have come across, which initially was true until a few problems cropped up that made me refund my first ever game on steam. Firstly when it came to choosing a puzzle to do you are given some boring designs to choose from and very few that are free and included within the game price. If you want to do any of the more interesting and fun looking puzzles you need to buy a dlc! You would think there would be a lot more puzzles available to you for the original purchase price, which is something offered by a lot cheaper puzzle games on steam. I understand the need to pay for future work done on the game via dlcs but i would have like to seen a lot more puzzles available within the original game price of £20. This alone didn't push me to get a refund but it was a big factor as i feel like i definitely was not getting my moneys worth. The next issues i came across that really made me realise this game was not worth £20 was the amount of bugs. Completing puzzles in the game was already complex enough with the different components available and button assignments for certain actions but the bugs made things a lot more difficult and annoying. Puzzle pieces glitched to stopping just to the side of where it should and then would disappear through the table, puzzle pieces would need to be placed precisely on the point it goes for it to register it as right so you find yourself fidgeting around for ages with each piece making sure it definitely didn't go in each position you thought just in case it wasn't picking up the piece properly. I am really disappointed with this because the game has potential to be one of the best jigsaw games out there but i just feel the quality and amount of content is just not good enough for the price.
