Editing my reviews a bit later out of Boredom. This game is genuinely what made me switch to PS4. The suits. The combat. The web swinging although a little stiff. Everything about playing as Spider Man felt almost perfect to me. Swinging through New York never got old and I could spend hours just moving around the city because the traversal felt that damn good. The suit selection was also a huge part of the experience for me because there was something so cool about being able to play as different versions of Spider Man while still having the game feel completely cohesive. The story is also amazing and there are so many moments that genuinely broke my heart. I loved the characters and the way the story handled Peter trying to balance being Spider Man with actually having a life. My biggest issue by far is the Mary Jane and Miles missions. I really did not enjoy them and Mary Jane especially drove me insane because she could be such a bumbling idiot handling her feelings in some of the worst ways possible by putting her life in danger really stupid stuff. I understand what the game was trying to do with those sections but I just wanted to get back to playing as Spider Man. Outside of those missions though this game was damn near everything I wanted from a Spider Man game. The fact that it still feels this good years later makes it even crazier. Honestly it breaks my heart seeing how badly I feel the second game fumbled things because this first game set such a high standard for what a modern Spider Man game could be. This is still one of my favorite superhero games ever made.
