Shame the IP got wasted on this lump of garbage. Let's start with the negatives: * The game is an almost mindless button masher. * Wrote almost, because if it actually were a button masher, it'd be fun to play. No, instead, you need to remember multiple button combos for multiple character, all of which play completely differently. * Variety is the spice of life. Except the same button which is used for dodge on one char, is used for healing on another. How does that make sense? Because it's a special ability? * Why does the tank character die so fast? * Damage sponges. Damage sponges everywhere. The element enhanced enemies are absolutely the worst. And it's the same few robots all the time, so the game is extremely repetitive. * Why does an Avengers game use an item system akin to AC Odyssey when the equipment doesn't show at all? It's just another way to have a lvl system on top of another lvl system (there's already a basic one in there). * The environments are bland. How was this game made by Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal, whose games are usually visually striking? Compare this to Rise of the Tomb Rider, the difference is like, night and day. The maps are also like out of a random map generator. Not memorable at all. *As good as the intro mission is, the game quickly falls apart. And the story is simply ridiculous even in a comic book story context. Again, people from Eidos had a hand in this? Interestingly, their other Marvel game, Guardians of the Galaxy, is actually very interestingly written...and graphically and artistically superb as well, I might add. * There's a crafting system, I think. but I have no idea how it works. Honestly, there are way too many tutorials in the game as it is, it all sort of blends together. Positives: * The definitive edition has many additional skins unlocked from the get go, which is nice to see. * The off-brand MCU heroes are actually well voice-acted and even though they don't stand out from the movie actors much, they do *get* the characters, from what I've seen. * The game made Kamala's abilities fun. Overall, for me, it's a 4/10. I don't recommend playing this unless you really enjoy repetitive scenarios and a few hero powers.

A great team combat game that was hated for being live-service. I bought this 6 years after release and after it got delisted only to discover this gem of a game. Each hero feels different to play and they play exactly how you would imagine after watching the movies. The story is pretty solid across 4 seasons with twist and turns, better than expected from a beat-em-up game.
Overhated, underrated. Fun game to play, especially with friends and ESPECIALLY if you're a superhero geek
It’s an incredible, nostalgic ride. Just make sure to stretch your back between missions, we aren't 10 anymore.
RIP
I would rather watch paint dry while on fent than play this cardboard avengers game ever again
PEAK
