great skins
fon game
The game was alright a long time ago when I joined, S1 IIRC. With time, it's gotten much much worse, the balancing is nonexistent just like optimization, matchmaking is stupid, the game became a skin buying machine. I've stopped playing a while ago, nothing has changed, and I don't think that it will. More details on all that: Balancing: - If I recall correctly, balance patches used to come out every month or more frequently. It was interesting to look at the meta and I think it was okay then, it wasn't perfect but it was somewhat tolerable. Some characters were really annoying to play as and against, though. - Now, the balancing patches come out once before every update, which lasts a long time, and don't actually address issues that the game has. Every update before I quit added an overpowered character that ruined the game for everyone (first blade, then gambit, then white fox, then the dinosaur), the meta did not change for a few months, and when it did, the problems appeared just as quickly with other characters. Not only that, they also nerf already struggling characters and some feel forgotten completely. I don't think it's enjoyable to play at all when one can't expect a positive change to occur anytime soon. Optimisation: - I might be no professional, but when I first downloaded the game it ran with no problems and could handle good graphics (I have an RTX3060). With time, it degraded a lot, and not due to my graphics card. Other games run fine on my laptop, and keep performance. This game, however, not only keeps bloating in size every update, but the developers keep not addressing performance either, aside from a recent change regarding high quality textures being a free DLC. Shame on that, I really liked the style of the game. Matchmaking: - I won't go into alleged engagement-based matchmaking here, but it sucks for everyone either way. You often have a few matches where you steamroll the enemies and a few matches where the opposite happens and almost no inbetween. It's extremely frustrating, especially when you just want to relax and get matched against a full squadron enemy team, while your teammates quit or blame you despite playing poorly. I do not recall a single change that addressed it. Skins: - Nothing wrong with them technically, but in practice, it feels like they come out a few times per update, are very often locked behind premium currency, are gooner bait so people spend money for them despite the game not improving with the said money. I didn't spend anything on the game and got quite a few skins so I can tell you that the situation might not seem bad, but it's being used to cover for the game that doesn't do much for the players. Overall, I'd say that the game is kind of dying. I don't see a lot of interest in it and it doesn't offer uniqueness anymore. 3/10, quite bad and not fun if you put your time into it.
