I easily recommend this game, especially if you're interested in narrative games, or CRPGs. The 2D art style compliments the atmosphere of the game, and gives it a cozy, sometimes ethereal feeling. The writing is good, and manages to fit both lighthearted and darker moments throughout the story. I never found the game too difficult either, but did have one party wipe, so there's still a challenge to be found. There's plenty of replay value, with at least three different endings that I know of. With the game being a reasonable length, you could easily see them all and not burn yourself out. Exploration felt satisfying, between the loot and fights, and a map completion percentage being shown as you go. Nothing beats watching numbers go up. I think some people may be put off by some small mechanics, like having to access your map from the inventory. Personally, I enjoyed those little aspects, since you'd have to dig your map out of your bag if you wanted to look at it anyway. I see it as taking a seat by the trail, resting your legs, having a snack, and pulling out the map to get your bearings. There's a couple very minor issues with the game (mostly occasional typos), but nothing that detracts from the experience. It's a solo developer, who released a game in a very good state, which is more than can be said of most AAA and AA developers nowadays. Overall, I think the game was great and doesn't run the risk of overstaying it's welcome. It's a cozy, small scale adventure that'll keep you engaged for the ten, or so, hours that you'll be playing it. It's one of those games where the heart and passion put into the project really shows, and games like that are what make this hobby so great.
Unique and charming.
