About
Making it Home is a vehicle building game. In the story mode you're a ladybug, with family issues, on a journey home. Put your engineering and creativity skills to the test as you combine simple elements into a complex contraption. Once you’ve built it, jump around your vehicle to keep it moving and defend it from an onslaught of cherry bombs, autonomous drones and carrots - or just relax and build your dream machine in the cozy mode!
Design and engineer your vehicle. What you build, and where, matters. Discover new components and your favourite combinations the more you play.
Take part in the daily, weekly and monthly design challenges with a limited set of components, or let your creativity run wild in the sandbox mode!
In the Story mode pick your route across the USA, getting to know quirky animal friends (and foes) along the way. Explore the interactive narrative while the classic country sound track keeps you in the mood for a road trip. The entire story mode is playable in Cozy mode without hazards or enemies, for when you just feel like chilling out on the drive home.
Rethink all your vehicle designs and play the entire campaign co-op with up to 3 friends locally or on-line with Steam Remote Play Together.
Share your vehicle designs and discover new ways to play with full Steam Workshop support.
Controllers are fully supported for the platforming elements but a keyboard and mouse is required to design your vehicle.

Good game. Story is kinda repetitive but the creativity this game gave me was endless i always tried new things
The gameplay is unique and really fun, but the game just lacks a little polish overall, especially with the graphics. That said I still think it's worth playing, and I found the story interesting and weird.
They're doing it!! Great game from a great team
This is a unique sandbox resource management game. That is a race to the finish to try to be on time. After each run, you get to pick a permanent unlock. The patch is always the same, so try the different challenges to see what you find the easiest. The more you play, the better you will become at the game. I have only played Act 1, but this game is challenging and fun. Find what works best for you. I did not know this until around 40 minutes into playing this game, but you can edit and redesign the vehicle before going to the next city. There is also added workshop support, which is a plus. Quite fun and very underrated. Only issues is that there hasn't been much major updates and it can get very repetitive without multiplayer.
Great game very fun
A very unique platforming game, with a difference. The performer is your vehicle and you need to power it with a wide range of contraptions as you run, bounce and jump around and even fall triggering different methods of momentum to move the vehicle as you race to get home, all the while upgrading it and trying to avoid or defend against Unusual obstacles that try to slow you down. with its unique style and fun animations, I have never played anything like this and I grew up on platformers. this game takes your imagination and creativity and turns it into a fun and interesting new experience ive never encountered in gaming. Fun, that anyone of all ages can enjoy. I love it.
Story: 7/10 Gameplay: 8/10 Graphics and audio: 5/10 Overall: 7/10
This game filled a niche I didn't think would satisfy me. I found myself spending most my hours trying to maximise my speed trying to beat the boss of each act on my first try. It brought such gratification, both in designing a vehicle that could surf the dessert, and maintaining it through platforming. I really did enjoy the unique gameplay, and chaotic nature that was presented from drones, to competing with an aeroplane that bombs you, to going head to head with a train you have to board and sabotage while keeping your vehicle in the lead. If you love optimising, and working with obscure tools to achieve success, this game is as close as it gets.
