Timers Shorten the timers, I should never spend over a hr on 1 single game because of POS players!
Frame rate is garbage It’s so slow. Ruins the experience. I love magic I wanna put money into this game. But to play it hurts my eyes with how blurry the animations are.
Charge money for glitchy game Lost 100 USD to glitches. The great developers employed use chatGPT to write their code. Latest update riddled with errors - literally just won a game and it counted as a loss for my 6000 gem game. Nice. Another 100 USD stolen by this company. EDIT: JUN 28 - lost 50 USD when opponent went negative hp and they won. Obviously it’s AI not real people and they bend the rules to win your money. SCAM.
Likely the best card game of its type It’s inherently a pay to win game with established cards. Most people look up a deck made by someone else and copy it. So, your deck you made on your own with your small collection is going to get CRUSHED. But, the game itself is well made and well balanced. They’ve been making this game for about 30 years ( cards and card mechanics). When you start they will throw a LOT of cards at you which is nice. But, there are like 30,000 cards with a lot of killer combinations combing things from different sets. So, them giving you a couple hundred cards doesn’t matter a ton. If having to look up decks made by experts to build those sounds like fun to you, this will be great.
Play paper instead I really wanted to like this game. But as an MTG trading card game player of over 20 years, I can only advise you to play the real thing with trading cards instead. The game appears in a good state, is playable on even older (slower) phones, and there are only few issues. If you like MTG the game can be a ton of fun. The reason for my low rating is due to the perhaps most well hidden issue or “feature”of this game, which seems there is a weighing system at work which sometimes acts in a way that defies statistical averages and possibilities. If you win too many games, the game will eventually punish you by giving you card combinations that would be near impossible to occur with paper cards (and without WotC’s black box algorithm) to make the game more “fair”. I have witnessed this many times over the years in 5000+ MTG Arena games I have played, and so have my several of my friends. I understand why they’re doing this, as otherwise the game would not be fun for new players if they constantly faced off against vets who have most cards already unlocked and as such access to much more powerful decks, but the hiding of this sneaky fact is just shady and ruins if for me as it’s no longer a game of skill and luck but also adds weighing/bias to the game without a disclaimer. I have witness something similar of WotC and their older Magic games on Steam (M2013 etc) in which when the new game came out the older version somehow become incredibly difficult to win against the CPU in as to nudge people in the direction of buying their new product. Love the game, but I absolutely detest WotC and their business practices.
Rigged Matchmaking Recent matchmaking has made it near impossible to reach higher tier success. Constant mana flood or mana droughts, opponents who seem to always have the right card at the right time. Conversely, opponents quickly quitting due to the same problem. Hard to believe that after three reshuffles, I still end up in a mana flood or mana drought.
MTG still fun despite... Super heros suck all the cross overs are stale but mtg is still fun.
Severely broken, waste of 6GB Store does not work, can not open packs, dialog boxes with no text and an OK button, and many others. Too much to list. 0/10
Terrible on Iphome Tried everything in the book and kept getting slapped with “not enough disk space” even though I have 20gb available and have done everything to clear background stuff that could effect it. Love this game on pc but if I have to troubleshoot my entire phone to just download the damn game something is wrong.
Really fun, but still janky. This game really is fun. Better than paper magic, you can just grind away at your daily games to earn gold and build the deck you really want. Obviously some people just pay the pay wall and try and win. Which is fine. It’s still the same game I’ve loved as a kid, and expensive deck can just outright lose to cheap aggro. Anyway, it’s fun. If you got kids and a family and don’t have time for FNM anymore then this will hit the spot.
