An incredible VR experience for absolutely no cost! The gameplay is immersive, fun, and polished, making it a must-try for anyone with a VR headset.

Magic Madness is an Early Access free to play VR magic PVP combat game. It worked on my Meta Quest 3 via Steam Link system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok. Has a tutorial that you can play without login. Has a player space that you can customize, without login. CONS: - Requires an Epic Games account to play on the PvP server. - Does not work with HTC Vive controllers. Maybe try this if you have an Epic Games account.
Warning: AI Slop This game is partially or completely made with talentless, soulless AI generated content.

Note: Dead PvP game This game contains no meaningful single player content. There's no viably populated servers/active player population. This game cannot be played as intended.

Warning: Third Party Account This game requires you to create a third party "EpicGames" account... there's no valid reason for this in a PC game when SteamWorks is available. This is often done to harvest private data and profile you, with potential sale and transmission of your private data to third parties. The developers will probably argue that you can trust them, but if they were trustworthy they wouldn't demand you create a third party account. This represents a considerable risk to gamers due to the privacy and security implications of developers that wish to bypass Steam and harvest user data. Remember, sometimes if the product is free, YOU are the product.
This is a painfully pointless and generic Fortnite looking trashheap that differentiated from the existing body of far superior FPS games in absolutely zero ways. The "flavour" of this failed trashheap was an "elements" theme where each of the "heroes" has specific element themed abilities that were badly slapped together and nobody cared about. But, looking at the warnings above and the unacceptable use of AI Slop, as well as some other toxic behaviour from this "developer", it's easy to see why this failed... but let's get into it. So, "Magic Madness VR" is a dead PvP game. Why did it fail? It's video game autopsy time! Almost every PvP exclusive game on Steam fails. Only a tiny proportion of them "go viral". This game failed for many of the same reasons those others fail. The chief of which is the developer thinking that their game will "go viral" without actually creating any reason for it do so. Competition amongst PvP centric games is extreme, and there's only a finite player base to appeal to. This game failed to reach any kind of critical mass and died as a result. Let's go into some of the reasons this particular game failed to appeal to gamers, despite the zero up front cost. First and foremost, there's no meaningful single player content. The developer gambled that other players would be an acceptable substitute for adding storytelling, level design etc to the Game. They lost that bet. Without a huge community of players or single player content to add a lasting value to the game, the game dies. Developers must learn that other players are not an acceptable substitute for adding content to a game. The developers haven't touched this for 2 months. It's deep in development hell and there's every likelihood this will never be completed. This unfinished game is just polluting Steam and making it harder for gamers to find genuinely, completely made games. As mentioned, this features really godawful, "wrong" looking AI slop instead of genuinely and sincerely created game assets. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating real game assets or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks bad because of that decision. AI slop sticks out like a sore thumb... and it comes across as insulting. There's also the old adage that those who lack the budget and talent to make their own game assets usually lack the budget and talent to do the rest of the job of game development properly, too, and that's glaringly obvious here. I'm not sure if this is an asset flip, but it's one of those cases where the assets just look much better than the rest of the quality of the game... a glaring inconsistency. There's no evidence, but as always, the biggest problem with asset flips besides the plagiarism is the deplorably low quality of the other aspects of the game, and even if the game assets are genuinely created for the game, the quality of the rest of the game is indistinguishable from that of asset flips. It's VR exclusive, and that shows the developer failed to understand the most basic axiom of VR game design... if the only cool thing about your product is VR support, your product is not cool. You're forced to sign a highly questionable yet legally unenforceable End User License Agreement... for such a relatively low effort, low quality product, this comes across more as a delusion of grandeur than anything else. This agreement includes questionable requirements that may attempt to revoke consumer law protections that gamers expect to have, which is also highly problematic. Developers must learn they are here to serve gamers, not control them. I had my cat walk over the keyboard while the EULA was displaying, which fixed that problem for me. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. It's free for now, but the developer intends to charge for this if it ever leaves Early Access... but considering the poor public reception, it's likely this will not be one of the 25% of games that ever gets finished and leaves Early Access. In terms of public reception, this failed to appeal to the 130 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at just a dozen or so concurrent players, and now there's basically nobody playing it. Even though it's free. This is a dismal public reception, but it's easy to see why gamers rejected it. All other issues aside (any of which would disqualify this from being worth your time), this is a game that relies on other players for it to be viable, and because there's not enough players, it's not viable. I can't recommend anyone downloads this, it's basically dead. The use of AI slop is a direct insult to gamers and real, ethical content creators and artists everywhere.
Had a chance to play this game during the closed beta, and I have to say—there have been some big changes, definitely for the better! I'm having a ton of fun with it so far, and I can easily see myself sinking dozens more hours into it. If you're looking for something enjoyable and not overly complicated, this one's definitely worth checking out!
This VR PvP game delivers an incredibly immersive and adrenaline-pumping experience. The combat feels responsive and intense, making every match feel unique and exciting. The visuals and sound design really pull you into the action. Even when you're not facing real players, the bots offer a surprisingly smart and challenging alternative — perfect for practice or solo play. Definitely a must-try for competitive VR fans!
The best game of my life. Move aside, Alyx, we’ve got a new contender for Game of the Year!

Interesting game mechanics. Expect to see more polished and balanced spell system as well as new game modes in the future.
