In Madness Beverage you will play the role of a fearless space pirate who must defeat the demons of 'Manos', these demons are spread over many different planets and so there will be plenty of variation in locations and map styles as well. The maps are also mostly made to support the fast paced shootouts, the demons are swift, and as deadly as you are to them, you will sometimes find yourself in a more compact location with demons, but for the larger hordes, or the larger demons, there is always enough space provided in ways such as spacious rooms or numerous corridors. Always remember to handle your ammo wisely. You can watch a short gameplay here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nlu8zWZ0faU The gameplay gives off a nostalgic aura around your monitor, it's not doom but it looks like it, both the behavior of the demons, the maps and the gameplay but everything nicely pollished with new gen visuals. I thought there was something missing about the demons, I'm not sure what, was it some of the demons' appearances or movements or something else? I'm not sure, but besides the cool worlds I got the impression that there is still room for some extra visual attention around the demons, no matter how they look, you will have to choose a difficulty level at the start of the game but also the stages in the game vary in difficulty and this provides the real challenges. Madness Beverage is a good straightforward shooter that anyone can play with the right amount of enjoyment, no puzzles or brain teasers to worry about, and despite the fast paced action there isn't much that requires attention to finish the levels, sit back in the couch with the necessary bloody scenes on your screen.
Way too janky and amateurish to be recommended.
In the end Madness Beverage looks and play like all these shovelware asset flips. Disgusting graphics, the colors are so saturated it looks nauseous, there is way too much chromatic aberration it's not even funny at this point. Cutscenes and voice acting are ridiculously bad, main protagonist is constantly throwing cringe slurs one liners. Most weapons don't feel satisfying, maybe okayish ones would be the sniper, shotgun and rocket launcher (which is a poorly done Unreal Tournament rip-off) . There are many broken scripts that only trigger when all enemies have been killed, add on top of that really bad level design for almost every levels the game have to offer and you get everything to annoy the players. All in all terrible gunplay, trash animations, list goes on, pretty much nothing to save here. If you like old school non stop action fps like Serious Sam and can tolerate the insane amount of jank then maybe give it a try once it'll be heavily discounted (max price recommended would be 3-4€) Game finished in around 3 hours in normal difficulty.
Curator page here--> DaRevieweD #155 <-- New review every Weekend

"Glug & Loaded…!"
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2681088897 Here's The Thing: You are Caleb, space pirate and Guardians of The Galaxy fill-in on the off chance that Star-Lord or any other essential member retires. Since that isn’t happening soon enough, he goes solo to investigate a broadcast from Manos who’s opened the hell gate to ease everyone’s suffering. Not a stickler for details, Caleb sets off to bash his head in and finds that being drunk has its perks. Bottoms up~
[+] PROS;
:) DRINKING YOURSELF TO DEATH~ The gameplay is the swig of the flask, the cat’s meow and just freaking… what a feeling! It combines BioShock’s tonic-chugging to gain immense, crazy abilities- my favorite of which is the yellow drink. It paralyzes nearby foes and grants me a force push ability killing non-boss enemies at the expense of my health. But mixes it with Saints Row IV’s silly or is it mad genius weaponry!? Of course, none can compete with the “forcegun” which passes through walls and knock them bad boys down! And there’s more where those came from! There’s a certain linearity but also branching paths in that you can’t foresee what weapons, madness drops will be available when you frequent a location. The campaign clocked in at about 4-5 hours, depending on your poison of difficulty. But the shelves in this bar come fully stocked with unlockables like a fourth “hellish” unlocked if you finished it once! And new game+ where all your arsenal except drinks is available from the get go. Not to mention “Colosseum mode”; waves of enemies for you to vent out those repressed anger… Probably extends the drunk-o-meter to 10 hours or so~ TIPS: 1) Some enemies are optional! Head to the objective to see if that’s the case to save time. 2) Don’t be afraid to get tipsy- if you can stomach a little double vision and blurriness~ :) ANOTHER ROUND ON ME! You wouldn’t be wrong if you called the game one big “Mercenaries” mode slapped with a few cutscenes and excuse to drink. That wouldn’t make it any less fun or restrictive of your inhibitions! Granted, busting caps did get old at like the first stage but it has a clever way of luring you into playing more; the possibility of causing total mayhem with snazzily overbearing guns, each smoother than the last! But also, unspoken rules and opportunities to strategize… You could mow down every enemy until you’re sober, or you could ride the high knowing that only specific bullet types will spawn here. Perhaps take advantage of abilities to find that button which unlocks the exit! However, you go about your demolition or its various handicaps, you will have a night to remember~ :) SPACING. OUT. Let’s get another thing straight, the weapons are drop dead gorgeous with parts I wouldn’t dare name their purpose. The unicorn one that fires like Scarlet Witch’s Chaos magic, deserves special mention! I don’t much to say about the level design except for the occasional jaw-dropping backdrop usually situated in the sky. The sound design is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with its rock genre that come off the same but with a subtly, different riff for each level! Also, how it sort of loops and its tempo increased whenever my health got lower or surrounded by enemies… But honestly, I didn’t pay it much mind except for when I celebrated confronting a horde successfully or I could see my deathbed in my head~ https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2681086271 :) MANO ET MANOS…! The story appears to be very The Avengers / Guardians of the Galaxy inspired but more of the latter, plus a giant ego-trip against a self-sacrificial distant cousin of Thanos called Manos. Just take the part where you gather six identically colored objects and functions to turn into a powerful S.O.B.! Doesn’t that sound so familiarly nerdy and- gah I just got chills! So, if you’re into that, you’ll be most pleased in picking this up at the snap of a finger~
[-] CONS;
:( NEVER TOO LATE FOR REHAB- The controls seemed heavier and mismatched for the fast-paced action, as if you were a sober person at a bar. But even if you do keep up, being in combat gives off a nauseating feeling like it’s always more smashed than you are… The inability to reload or switch weapons while sprinting holds it back, like why couldn’t that be one of the drinks’ buffs!? Melee hits' too short reach and weak swings... Not to mention, your build is so big, that merely exploring and turning around in the many tight spaces is hard. Even weapons sometime take up the screen when reloading that you can’t see what’s ahead of you. But also, there is a lack of proper progression because insanely powerful arms can be unlocked early on just by selecting the planet without knowing~ :( BREWING UP A STORM! There were also a few one-off elements that didn’t belong in the game. That single puzzle in the laboratory map, a very basic boss… Or worse, two levels with brief but scathing platforming bits that if you mistimed the jumps, you had to reload the checkpoints as they were “instant kills”. Or why there is even a ridiculously implemented fall damage as the slightest dip in altitude will cause you harm… The space setting gave it leeway for a variety of environments to be included, but none of them were memorable and to me, it was just one level after another of two extremities; either too spacious or too cramped locations~ :( BOTTLED UP FEELINGS… The voice acting was tolerable early on but worsened in delivery and quality of writing later on. There’s also no redeemable personality whatsoever. For example, Caleb’s dismissive, lazy attitude and snide remarks of boredom- not being able to take on more swarms of enemies gave my tedium more ammunition than it needed~
BUGS:
x Died with 20+ health points remaining. x Certain achievements not popping; a kill with every weapon, a sip of every drink. x Melee not registering? At least I don’t think they did… x When enemy is all up in your grill, shots won’t connect.
NITPICKS:
~ Quick travel back to Torrent after delivering madness drop. ~ No clear objectives; sometimes it’s survive and hold out. Other times it’s seeking out stragglers to progress. ~ Subtitles for cutscenes? ~ Missing key options for shooters; such as toggle/hold to sprint, crouch. ~ Going to the marketplace to restock ammo harshed my mellow. ~ Caleb’s limited sound bites and grunts seared in my mind.
"- Another One Under My BELCH~"
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2681090266 Last Words? FPS that’s both retro & modern with an intoxicating, slightly OP gunplay. More than enough to take the edge off… But has quite a few hiccups and so those thirsty for polish will not quench it here~ If you like a not-too-serious shooter but with some extraordinarily messy firepower. If you love seeing a blend of sci-fi franchises and maybe drinking alongside your character whenever he powers up. Then you should definitely give it and take a shot~
7 / 10

An overflowing toast to Console Labs for the key!

Don't forget to follow my curator DaRevieweD for more games!!
I really wish there was a middling review button, I usually love boomer shooters, the concept is even kind of fun but everything else about it falls extremely flat (the voice acting is atrocious, it feels like an homage to older games but misses the mark), the gun play doesn't feel that great and has sort of that loose max sensitivity feel even when it's turned down (it's just not tight) it's maybe sub-par at best, the enemies feel very asset store like, maybe they're original who knows but they don't look that great either way. I just didn't find myself having fun and pushed myself through an hour just to see if anything clicked for me later on, it sadly didn't and began to feel more like a chore the longer I carried on, I wondered rather I should give it a thumbs up and just caveat heavily that I didn't find myself enjoying it but maybe others would, but then I took a moment to look up other games in this price point and came to realize there's just too much out there in the indie market that is fantastic at this price point. My advice to anyone considering this game? Watch some game play on it and see if it's right for you, it to me personally feels like a budget boomer shooter on the wrong side of the budget.
I've been playing for 30 minutes and I still haven't even caught a glimpse of the game's main mechanic. What I HAVE seen is not the nicest of welcomes. Mazelike level design in the WRONG way, generic and uninspired weaponry that doesn't even feel nice to use, equally generic and uninspired music and the player character having a REALLY annoying voice. Not worth your time even at a steep discount.
Terrible
Toting a similar style play-style and delivery to old-school titles such as DOOM and Duke Nuke'm arrives, Madness Beverage. In this title you are in control of a space pirate named Caleb, who is out on an intergalactic adventure to claim rare ingredients to create beverages to assist in destroying a grand evil. Manos, whom Caleb pursues, has unleashed all of hell, fueling your pursuit to power to stop it. Once your adventure truly begins, you have a ship, which acts as your safe house type hub space. From the safety of your ship you get to choose each mission you want to pursue. Each mission has its own goodies to find from guns to grenades, and of course, your ingredient. At the end of a mission you do have a boss to fight, which are all unique encounters in their own ways. Once the boss has been defeated, you will have your goods to take to the “town” area, where you can refill ammo and obtain new drinks. The drinks you obtain from the boss cores are all unique power-ups with pros and cons to each. Effects such as auto-target bullets or slowdown time are available on the drinks, but of course come at a cost. Some of the adverse effects can be very dangerous, being things like higher damage taken or making enemies more aware of you causing more swarms. Cons being included on the drinks is a nice dynamic to combat really making the player need to think about whats happening opposed to simply allowing you to blast away without thought. Normal type enemies you will encounter are a little varied, but will feel repetitious after a while. For most of the game, the same 5 or so enemies will be what carries the weight of common combat. Although having their own variety and enemies all feeling unique, the differences don’t really keep the combat mixed up enough to really keep things overly interesting. Environmentally, the similar issues can be found as said about the enemies; each environment has their own visual unique flavor, but structurally, the difference is not vast. Some levels will feel like they stand out a big more because the structural difference is there, but unfortunately, some stages feel very straight forward and not varied in shape. Much like those old school shooters, you also get the tough-guy one liners on repeat. This is one of my most stand-out problems with this game, but it is something I could get over. Whether intended or not, the voice acting is awful and not enough variety is available to accommodate how often Caleb talks during encounters. Often times, you will hear the same lines repeated multiple times during a single encounter. However negative as these issues may sound, the game is pretty good. Madness Beverage is not going to be among triple A titles in terms of quality, but as a tribute to old-school FPS formats, it is very successful. In the options there is even a setting to turn on old school visuals, which are not exactly the same as old school, but more so a super low resolution. Still, this idea is fun and gives a similar feeling to the game. Madness Beverage is a fun game that, although won’t leave you speechless, will still be a fun ride. There is easily a few hours of content here to keep you busy for the price.
I don't even know where to start: The action is boring The weapons are lame The monsters are bland The blur when running is nauseating The running just stops on reload and I have to pound the key again to start up The levels lack detail so it easy to get confused even with a notification on where to head The save system sucks The characters one liners are annoying The music is just as annoying Do I really need to go on? I've done almost 80 reviews. There are a lot of games I don't recommend...but I find enjoyment in them...so i keep them around. There are about 5 I haven't. They get removed from my computer and the title is hidden so I don't have to see it again. Madness Beverage is one of those titles. Don't buy this game on discount. Don't even download it if it is free.
This action game has peculiar atmosphere to it, but I didn't quite enjoy the action part. Shooting feels shallow, sound effects are weird, and there's no feeling of impact when you hit your enemies. Needs lots of work to become better.
Terribl..y good effort! Is what I would say to the dev.
