Best game in expo. Good visual, great narrative, amazing VO.
my favorite game in the expo this year^

The save system was completely broken and bugged my save when I returned to it. The sprite was invisible and the view was fixed below the map. Before that, the game was meh, not good enough for troubleshooting.
I'm torn between supporting this game for the love and passion that was put into it and not recommending it due to the level of polish on the game. So what I'm going to do is walk through what I see are the pros and cons and let you all decide from there. The love, detail, and imagination that went into creating all the various world details and lore ideas are nice touches. The art that goes along with it is inspired if not wholly unique. These two blended well to provide an interesting enough premise for me to want to install this in the first place and give it a try. Then when you do play, you'll never really know quite what to expect. Those are the few positives that I can describe that don't come with some caveat because the negatives are numerous. Spoilers ahead for some story beats. [*]Audio mixing results in the music often being the most loud thing in the room by a country mile. [*]There are numerous game breaking bugs that can occur from some in the way save loading works to even the tutorial breaking at the tap W & S to move up and down prompt. [*]If you encounter one of these bugs, you'll likely have to close and restart the game and that means rereading dialogue from the beginning. Unfortunately, there are no skip buttons although this is lesser down the totem pole. [*]I am all for creators being inspired by their favorite media as I too do it. However, I think the bike chase scene in the Memory portion of the game proves to be a poor imitation of Katana Zero that does little aside from look bad on the game. Although admittedly, it was nice seeing a Red Strings Club reference in the parallax background of this section. [*]From a technicality point, this game also lacks the options for video settings such as frame rate cap and VSync which would help the overall look and feel of the game. The last issue for me is in terms of this games potential. This is entirely subjective and will cover spoilers
but I do believe that the story twists that come from Morte supposedly being killed off screen, Vox being a sudden debater on the moral quandary of human freedom or happiness, and Avis seemingly being a last minute antagonistic force with that quandary leads to a scenario where the story falls flat as it comes to an end.
I think these story beats can be excused in the light that this does seem like a capstone project for a uni program but if this ever were to be evolved, it needs to ask itself how to conduct its story in a way that comes off as less sloppy. In the end, I will recommend this simply because I think this is a good example of what can be done by indie developers for a first time project but I don't think going into this with any mindset other than this is going to be considerably bumpy is the right mindset.
An interesting school project game that keeps you busy for about an hour of your time, give or take. Machine Heart tells a story about robots, human consciousness and gives you the choice of deciding the fate of humanity. The art in this game was really pretty and the design was great. I was kinda laughing at the animations as they were a little bit wonky, but they weren't too bad! The voice acting was lovely and the story was interesting as well. I had a little bit of troubles with some bugs that were almost game breaking, but I reinstalled the game and continued from my save to thankfully get past it. You shud still be aware that there can be bugs in this game and some might cause you to have to start the game over, reinstall the game or load a save. Taking all of that into consideration, I really think it's a great free game and definitely worth checking out!
Really enjoyed it to begin with, but then it started glitching. deleted and reinstalled, and it worked again! if this game was a bit longer, had a more satisfying ending, and had a few tweaks and changes, would be incredible. Right now, it's pretty alright.
Machine Heart'ın büyüleyici çapraz zaman çizelgesi bulmacalarına dalın ve kitlesel zihin yükleme planının ardındaki komployu ortaya çıkarın.
非常好游戏!爱来自中国! we need Chinese!! 音乐和音效非常好,配合场景以及UI营造的有未来感的氛围很不错捏!
好啊,很好啊。配乐和故事都很有意思。
