it is really good
Before I get into my review I'd like to fully disclose that I was given early access to the full game for the purposes of reviewing it. I was not paid to or nor asked to do any form of review for any sort of monetary gain. Lumina Veil is a modern style of survival horror game that I've been keeping an eye on very loosely. So when I heard that I could sign up to review the game I took the initiative to do so. The game's story is mostly told through notes but there are a few cutscenes that drive the narrative forward. You Play as Kaori who also goes by the streamer name of LunatiiCreeps playing an unnamed horror game made by Chroma. But as you play the game things get a little strange as it seems parts of it are bleeding into the real world with various hallucinations that may have something to do with corruption a phenomenon that causes individuals to hallucinate among other things. Without getting into spoilers all I'll say is that while the story is short I quite enjoyed it and personally I have no clue if it was intentional but I do feel like the game has taken some heavy inspiration from The Evil Within which I think is an absolute plus since I love those games! The combat is serviceable however I will admit that I do think that it lacks weapon variety as you only get a bolt gun (with an upgrade to shoot three bolts & explosive bolts) along with a pipe which later gets replaced with a metal bat. Melee combat is a bit rough around the edges where you can interrupted by enemy attacks but to be completely honest it wasn't so bad that it made the game unplayable in anyway and the game has so many health items and and ammo that by the end of chapter 2 I was stacked going into chapter 3 and 4 so any damage that I took was kept to a minimum. The soundtrack is really nice too! It took my about five hours to beat and I did technically replay chapters 1-3 due to some technical issues when recording the game (TLDR OBS would make the game look choppy when the highest FSR setting was enabled but it was easily fixed by switching to Balanced) but I really didn't mind because I had a lot of fun playing the game. I also feel like this game is a proof of concept for what the developer can do in the future since the game features first person segments and fixed camera segments. All in all I enjoyed the game and I look forward to seeing future projects from Hamster Cafe!

Kaori/b] 主人公の名前。
This game has really surprised me. As you progress, it becomes more interesting. The switch from third-person to first-person and to fixed camera at certain moments, along with the variety of areas, makes it feel like you've been playing several different games. I loved it, congratulations to the developer.
Pros::: For an Indie Developer that did this by themselves is truly impressive. The movement of the character was pretty smooth, the enemies were decent. Nothing crazy or over the top and they did get stronger over the course of each chapter. The weapons in game were minimal ( had a bat and a speargun) which was enough to get through any enemy. Combat and key functions were minimal so it didn't require a lot of memorization so it allowed me to enjoy and focus on the story rather than trying to remember which button to press. Cons::: There were a few spots where i got stuck, like literally stuck. i couldn't move or get out of and had to reload the latest save. That being said, sometimes i had to reload some scenes and enemies again. This is my personal preference by i wish the last chapter where you started to lose your sanity was a bit tougher and harder to navigate and had less stations (you'll know once you play) And lastly, while the concept of the story was great, i had trouble understanding what was going on until chapter 3 or so. Overall, because this was the first game produced and completed, a solid 8.5. I'd recommend this game for sure.
Definitely recommend. This game is fun! The combat is just right. It looks and plays really well! The atmosphere is spot on. Good music and sound. The story and lore is intriguing. No bugs or problems. All around no complaints and that is unusual for me. I've spent $30+ on similar games that were nothing compared to this. It even looks and plays REALLY well in VR using UEVR. Amazing job Dev! I look forward to seeing what else you accomplish.
