First up: I only gave this game a try because I didn't know what to do in my spare time. Now I'm second guessing my life. Right away, after the first 7 minutes or so, I lost faith gameplay-wise. The tutorial isn't even telling you, what you really have to do. I had to look up the controls only to realize that "F" is changing your "Aiming-Mode" where you can actually accuretly shoot your Orb. This is just one example to point out this half-assed "tutorial". (Btw, there's a typo in the control-menu: "Shießen".) I don't know who thought, it would be fitting to advertise this game as "fast-paced". Not a single level in this game (at least out of all the levels, I got to play) is fast-paced just in the slightest sense. If you consider a platform, which is boosting you when jumping on top, as fast-paced then wait till here about slides. Oh boy, are them things fast-paced. My nephew is an absolute speed runner on the playground. The level-design is just excruciating. The people who "designed" this are literally brain-dead. They have to be. I'm sorry, but in every room there's at least one perfectly obvious short-cut which is making the rest of the parkour completely pointless. So to say, you can skip half of the game by default. Maybe that's why it's called "fast-paced". Also I'm pretty sure, whoever was responsible for setting save-points wants to see the world burn. I had to spend half my time playing the same level over and over again because the respawn was set way, way too far back - and I'm really not exaggerating here. I know, some could say "Don't be too harsh. It's hard work, especially when you're starting out. And after all, that's their first real, big project and it's okay to fail". I couldn't agree more...Also I'm sorry for everyone who was involved and really gave (or at least tried to give) their all. But this changes nothing about the fact that this game is objectively bad. Also, consider this: These people are basically just studying to make games for a living one day. This will most likely be the case for most of them, I'd say. And before they began to develop this game, every single one of them studied (at least) for one and a half year. To fail on such fundamental task like UI/UX-Design a sensical level design or even the movement of the game is just evidence of incapacity. I'm sorry. I really, really am. Because even tough it's not any good, I know it took effort and time. But this is a plattformer. And for a plattformer you'd think, that the development should be mainly focusing on the movement-mechanics. I obviously can't say for certain, but at least it doesn't feel like this was the case. It's absolutely janky and sometimes it doesn't feel responsive. I could go on and on about what's wrong with this game, but I think everyone understood by now that it isn't any good. Finally, let me tell you that finishing this game is impossible. At least in my case. After I eventually acquired the skill to "sprint" (imo "dash" would be more fitting but whatever) I had to make my way out of this literal hellish part of the map. Once you succeed, you make your way back into a room where the first and literally only save-point (that I encountered in 1,7 hours of playtime) is located. There are arrows on the ground which are supposed to guide you. But the last arrow is just pointing towards the void. I think you're supposed to jump over this [strike]void-filled[/strike] pit. But never in a million years are you able to make this jump. Trust me. I tried every way possible. And there aren't many. I can't finish the game, even if I want to. (I really don't.) Now who's gonna pay me for playing this game?

Review at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SYI0OkEywwA I couldn't really enjoy this game. The controls were not exactly the best for this game.
I really wanted to give this game a positive review. I came here from a Youtube video and thought the game looked interesting. And yes, it does look quite interesting. The art-style and level-design has me very intrigued. And it kinda feels weird to be this critical of something I'm getting for free. But the game feels very not-fun. Allow me to elaborate. Lumien seems to be a movement-based platformer. Unfortunately, that's where the game seems to be quite weak at. The movement is janky and uncomfortable. At times animation glitches out during jumps, and they're not that great to look at anyway. The game has mechanisms that can be fun and the level design has thoughtful puzzles that have potential. But these issues get in the way of it being enjoyable. Based on the description, the team wanted to have a playable version on Steam. Personally, I think they should have focused on ironing out these features and perhaps gone for a shorter playable section instead. Something I learned from my own foray in game development (my game sucks, btw.) With all that said, I do hope the team finishes the game and calibrates these features. I would like to come back at a future date and rewrite this review as a recommendation.
Even though the game needs some more polishing, its already a lot of fun to play and the movement feels pretty nice. I would recommend speedrunning the game, since some of the bugs are really fun to abuse.
Lumien, eski bir medeniyetin kalıntılarını keşfedip ona yeniden hayat verdiğiniz, hızlı tempolu bir üçüncü şahıs platform oyunudur. Çeşitli savunmaları geçerken uygarlığın gizemli güçleriyle beslenen Küreler size yardım edecek.
Игра выглядит и играется криво.
I was able to glitch and soft-lock the game fairly quickly due to poor mapping. The rest up to that point didn't really seem that intriguing or worth the download.
Developer isn't sexist.
nice
