A decent half-hour game with some control issues
"This game reminds me of Limbo. It looks like Limbo. It's like a shorter Limbo." You'll hear phrases like that a lot in regards to this game (and pretty much any platformer with puzzles whose graphics are mostly gray-scale). While there are similarities in those regards, I wouldn't quite say it's a straight up clone or anything. The atmosphere feels somewhat different from Limbo for instance, as pretty much every creature you meet is actually quite friendly
minus a dog or two and an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ monkey
and will help you on your spontanious quest-as long as you're willing to help them in return. Pros + A decent atmosphere and setting with some interesting looking characters. + The music is alright. +- The graphics are fine if you like this style. If you don't or are sick of seeing it, then this game probably won't change your mind. A few character's sprites look kind of weird to me though. +- It's a very short game, lasting an hour at most if you're really bad at puzzles and/or platforming, although you'll likely finish it in under an hour otherwise. If you like longer games, this could be a problem, but the issues with the game may make its short length a positive. Cons - The controls are one of the biggest issues of this game. The game is surprisingly awkward to play, with inputs either not registering or having a large delay. I'm fairly certain this is an engine limitation though, as the game was made in RPG Maker 2003 and, to put it bluntly, RPG Maker isn't a very good engine for platformers. If the dev wants to make more platformers, my advice would be to not use RPG Maker, or at least not that version. - There honestly aren't many puzzles in the traditional sense in this game, and a couple of the puzzles that are there either feel gratuitous or are held back by the poor controls. The rest of the puzzles are pretty much either "avoid the hazards" or "just guess for this bit". -+ It didn't really feel like there was much of a point for your character suddenly going for a dangerous stroll
other than your character seeing a ghostly white version of himself I guess
. The ending was also kind of confusing. Those are just small personal gripes for me though. And who knows, maybe you'll get it more than me. Conclusion The game has several problems, but at the end of the day, it was a quick free romp in a world filled with animal fellows and a cute wrap-up ending cutscene
apart from your character dying maybe? i dont know
, so if you just want to play a cute, short puzzle game and can look past some bad controls and non-puzzles, give it a try and play it on a rainy day. All of that said though, I hope the dev takes the criticism and uses it in any future games, cause while I can look past those problems in something like this, a longer game with the same problems would likely be an infuriating experience. 7/10

Odd game definitly reminded me of Limbo. I'd check it out if your into puzzles and zero direction on what to do lol
from what I was able to play this game is GREAT. but after entering the secound puzzle (the one with the lion-cat things) my players walk cycle got stuck in the ladder climb postition and i could go thought walls. if this glitch gets fixed this game would be great. granted it is a free game so the was bound to do something like that but I would like to say this is the only glitch in the game that I've seen.
Very creatively done! It was great how each puzzle within the game was very unique. I never knew what was going to come next. I loved the classical music and black-and-white atmosphere, as well.
Very cool game to spend an hour on, especially in these days of FPS's and hand-holding RPG's. I love the French vibe, and the puzzles were quite entertaining. The music is REALLY awesome for such a short game. I only have two complaints, the first being that the game was not longer, and the second being that there are a ton of bugs regarding movement. I understand seeing that it such a short game, and in the end the bugs only inconvenienced me mildly (I saved often, so when I got stuck in a wall I could just exit and load back.)
RPG Maker strikes again! Ludu is one of hundreds of low effort retro-pixel RPG Maker asset/construction kit flips spamming the Steam catalog, made with the RPG Maker video game construction kit... in their own words, "Our easy to use tools are simple enough for a child." Unlike most RPG Maker asset flips, an attempt was made to make a 2D side view adventure game, thematically a ripoff of Microsoft's Limbo from 2010. As with all RPG Maker games, the poor quality engine displays badly in fullscreen and doesn't have full HD support or any true graphics tweaking options, making this unacceptable for any dedicated modern PC gamer. The point can be made that the intention of RPG Maker is to make demos and small games to pass around friends, and shouldn't be used for "professional" game development. While it might be better if this had never been released on Steam under the guise of a professionally developed game, the developer has done the right thing by making their RPG Maker construction kit effort free. Notably the developer here couldn't work out how to use RPG Maker to make an RPG... and that's the only thing RPG Maker can do properly... except it's not even very good for making RPGs. Instead, we have this adventure style game with a simple inventory system, very dumbed down, that feels more like a student project than a sincere attempt at making a game. It's clearly a ripoff of Limbo. This was apparently made using a TWENTY year old version of RPG Maker (wow, RPG Maker has been making gaming worse for decades!). Released on Steam in 2016... what were they thinking? Guaranteed to fail. At least the violin music is nice? If you want a good 2D adventure/puzzle game, try Limbo, the game they're ripping off here. Limbo is vastly better than this mess. While this is currently being given away for free, and that's noble, it's seriously not worth anyones time.
