Love and Fear

The plot revolves around Hikari, a young woman looking for love. One day, while strolling through the forest known to fulfill wishes, she passes out. After hearing that a strange man has looked after her, she tries to find him and see if he is the one. Unfortunately, this will not be so simple because the forest is also dangerous. People have gone missing, and a murderer is believed to be at large. The appearance of another man complicates matters further. This visual novel focuses on story rather than gameplay. The engine is rather simple, with only two languages (Russian and English) and a speaker that turns music on and off. The script flows quite well, and there are no major errors. This surprised me because I have played a lot of visual novels where the source language was not English and the literal translation did not work. This is not the case with this game. Despite the lack of a skip text feature and saving, the game progresses quickly and does not waste your time. Although you get two or three sentences in the same speech bubble, the content is displayed all at once so you do not have to wait for it. You make various choices during the game, but the only ones that matter occur toward the end. These important decisions lead the plot to one of six possible endings. Regardless of the ending you see, the game provides a simple way to return to the time of a key decision and see all endings in one gameplay.
