Here's my first time gameplay video: https://youtu.be/zzUqw5oZkZg I also review other VR games on my channel: www.youtube.com/c/thefishstick The graphics are decent; thats about it. The most fun I had was trying to beat a crab to death with the paddle I found (which didn't work by the way). How I spent 20 minutes on this game is beyond me; most of it was spent running around in circles on the island swinging my paddle around at various things hoping I'd accidentally make some sort of progress. This is a prime example of a game someone is asking money for that should just be a free demo in its current state.I see no reason how someone could ask for money for this game. I like survival games so this one intrigued me especially since it was in VR (which I think is a great idea!); it did look a bit fun but at the same time I had serious doubts about it. It definetely did not look worth the price being asked which is the reason I actually ended up paying money for it in order to put out a review warning people not to waste their time. Over time I've gotten increasingly annoyed with people realsing these types of games and asking WAY to much money for them. It was difficult to figure out anything beyond the obvious which for me was building a fire to boil water that I collected in the bucket. I was eventually able to figure out how to get rope when I accidently started wacking a plant with the paddle and rope started popping out. I saw the rope automatically would started coming together in a raft shape when i put it in the designated "raft building spot" so I managed to gather enough till the narrator said ok thats enough rope. I obviously needed wood and the wood I used for the fire wasn't good enough. With the limited amount of interactive items on the island I was suprised I wasn't able to find some sort of way to make it happen, hoping something would just pop into place on accident. I gave the game several attempts but lost interst pretty quick. I hate being negative toward teh VR Devs and like to support them but this game is not worth the price being asked.
Graphics are a little fuzzy, still, Im sure that will clear up. Fire is too big, as someone else mentioned, its easy to burn yourself. I still havent gotten the raft in the water, but i think that is because when u set an object down, it rolls into the ocean, very slowly. if you could fix the issue of my rocks rolling off the island so i dont die of dehydration, that'd be cool :) otherwise, I am Very glad to see a game like this, and look forward to more updates :) I run a store in kamloops, BC, and have been looking for family friendly content, and this fits the bill perfectly. oh, and just hopeful thinking...i think a shark would make this feel more...visceral? Love the work, keep it up!
I bought this on sale and I'm still returning it. No update since 2018. You can't even save your game.
This game is basiclly a virus that breaks your VR setup. Crashes on start HMD turns totally off. Upon reboot, my floor hight was over my head. Now it is just a grey room and none of my buttons work. I will have to reinstall steamVR and run my rom setup all over again. Thanks alot,. Finally got this gabage to work. The graphics are muddy, blurry and total trash. The Voice in the game speaks HORRIBLE english. Sounds like a french guy with a mouth full of rocks. The floor hight is all the way to my neck and cant be adjusted with OpenVR. The in game stterings to adjust hight do not work. Teleport only, you can't walk around like a normal human. You can't even get close to the plants that it forces you to interact with, thus making the game come to a full stop before you even play it. 0/10. Don't waste your money on this wannabe VR Minecraft ripoff. Vive, Titan V gpu, 64g ram, i7 core, water cooled. (That means the problem is the game, not my rig)
So I saw this and it reminded me of that other game where you are trapped on an island and must survive, but only in VR. Great idea and I love it. However... The FPS is jumping around a lot which really hurts the eyes, makes you have motion sickness, and isn't great for the experience the game is trying to give you. Not only that but it is unclear how to make items. I spend 4 minutes trying to figure out how to make a axe. Then you have the character talking to you (himself) about how he needs to do something/what he needs before he does something. At first it was helpful but after 10 minutes it gets old after the 4th time of him explaining how to get rope. Really if they fixed the FPS and make it where he just says something once or twice then it would be a okay game. As it is, not really worth the try.
Have you ever wondered how it feels like to be stranded on a desert island? Well, Lost in the Ocean is a survival game where you will experience the desperation of being lost and alone on an unknown place. To survive, you will have to find enough supplies to satisfy your basic needs, such as eating. To "win" the game, you have to build a raft that's strong enough to handle the power of the reckless and unforgiving sea. While doing so, you will enjoy a great soundtrack, good quality graphics and a smooth gameplay. If you are looking for a survival title that's realist, instead of horror-movie like, then you should check out this game.
I first played after the recent patch 3.1, and I dig where the game is going! Right now, there’s not a ton to do or interact with… but come to think of it, there’s not much to do on a deserted island, so maybe that’s how it should be! Game play consists of monitoring your water and food meters, while gathering resources and building objects. Interactions are pretty straightforward; put the components near each other and bash them until they stick together. The graphics are nice – it’s a beautiful island, and very peaceful (great idea including the “relax” mode on the latest release!) It runs smooth and stable. Hopefully the developer can keep adding things to do! Thumbs: Up!
Relax and enjoy,,
