Мужики, спасайте, если наберём 10 лайков и 5 наград, то жена подарит ящик пива
Disclaimer: My scores/reviews are almost always based on having bought the game at close to the "lowest historical price" on steam at time of purchase. Quick score: 5/5 Notes: Great little metroidvania. The swinging mechanic takes a while to get used to because the way momentum works is very different from how most other games with grapples work, you will get used to it eventually though and it gets a lot more smooth once you get a couple upgrades. The only downside I would say to the game is that it is short, my first playthrough was 1 hour and 18 minutes. I got it on sale for 4$ and I don't regret my purchase at all, was an enjoyable hour, and there is some replayability with the achievements if you want more of a challenge. Also worth noting I played on KB+M, I generally use a controller on games but a grappling mechanic generally lends itself to a mouse so I would suggest the same to you.

Disclaimer, I've only played for 14 minutes, although 14 minutes is probably enough The physics of this game are just awful. You can't extend or retract your grappling vine at all. You can barely swing manually once you're grappled to something so if you mess up once you're going to have to restart from your last checkpoint. Every single swing you do relies 100% on the momentum you can get from falling, and it seems that holding a directional key while swinging in that same direction actually cancels out your momentum which is unintuitive. You know how people playing Mario Kart tilt their whole bodies when they make a turn in-game? Imagine if doing that undid your turn. Now imagine that you're not tilting your IRL body, you're pushing the D key on your keyboard because you're trying to move to the right. Trying to move makes you not move 4/10 •Art style is fine •Didn't play long enough to get anything but the beginning of the story •Playing the game is unpleasant
short, but very polished little gem of a game!
Wait a minute… I know I already wrote a review for this, but on the off chance that someone scrolls through and picks my crappy review to read, I can’t let them leave without downloading it, otherwise they’ll miss out on a fantastic experience! This was the first really good free steam game that I played…don’t misunderstand though, this isn’t good based on it being a free game, it’d still be a really good game in the $10-$15 range, but the developer is a fine young lad who decided to give us all this beautiful gift… and I think it took me like 2 years (and another 5 free games that were good, at least!) before I stopped constantly looking for some kind of hidden angle, or one of those surprise back door how-do-you-do’s, where they rob you blind on the next release… Nope, I’m pretty sure it’s just a genuine, straight up “welcome to the neighborhood” freshly baked Quiche! Stop reading my maniacal ramblings, and go play this already!!!
Lorera is a very small games, don't expect to play it for countless hours (unless you want to speedrun it (wich is super fun)). I beat the game in about a little more than an hour and a half. But the game is great at what it does, it's just a small platformer with a little hook mechanic. - Pixel art is really cool (although I don't like the sprite of the main character), I love the color palet used. - Music is nice and relaxing. - Gameplay is pretty nice, it does feel kinda akward at first but it's very fun to mess around with the abilities you're given. This isn't the best game ever but it's a short and solid platformer.
"Lorera" is yet another of literally thousands of garbage 2D retro pixel platformers infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere just by existing. Kitbashed/asset flipped out of the godawful Yoyogames GameMaker Studio, this platformer was a complete and utter failure. What do you do in the game? Basic platforming, but there's also a swing mechanic that nobody asked for. Heck, nobody asked for yet another 2D retro pixel platformer, but we got one anyway. Great. This features really godawful pixelcrap "art" instead of real graphics. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating 3D visuals, or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks much worse than most other games because of that decision, and that's a major deterrent to gamers. Games like Terraria and Stardew Valley succeeded despite the bad graphics, not because of them. It's free... now, but it wasn't before. The developer was charging $10 USD for this. Yes, 10 bucks for another retro pixelcrap platformer. Delusions of grandeur! No pixelcrap is worth $10. If amateur developers want to get paid the same kind of money as real developers, they should at least learn how to do video game graphics first. Price barriers, especially on low quality products, can be a direct cause of failure. It's a nice gesture for the game to be given away for free, but it also tells us that the game wasn't good enough to succeed as a paid product. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 6 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Nope. This isn't worth downloading. While this didn't cost me any money up front, I still feel ripped off.
