Little League World Series Baseball 2022

Played for an hour and a half on Steam Deck. Once I could get it to run. There’s some initial setup in touch mode for the unreal engine to run. Also the controls randomly did or didn’t work depending on the boot up. But this game doesn’t have a control problem. It has mechanical problems of being a decent baseball game with the fielding. The batting and pitching are more arcade-like. The quick time events on a wall catch or base running are also arcade-like. Knowing how this is a game meant for kids, this is all perfectly fine. The downfall of this game is the fielding. Your CPU opponent will field the ball perfectly. You struggle on half the plays that aren’t hit close to a player already. And even then there might be a struggle. The fielder you control is in proximity to the ball. So if a grounder is coming to the shortstop, you might initially control the pitcher while the ball is on its way there, instead of being able to play the shortstop at the beginning of the ground ball play. There’s no options to change how you play the game. I re-installed just to make sure. There’s no tutorial either, or it’s not native to the game. The controls are layed out in a pause menu option at least. So if you HAVE to play this game, just get good at timing your batting, because your fielding will be spotty. And just throw low and perfect as much as possible to keep to grounders or line outs. Otherwise, find a better baseball game: I’m glad I got this in a humble bundle for charity, because otherwise I wouldn’t have tried it.

The batting is just plain terrible and the outfield switch is slow and clunky The fact that I can only hit a ball if it's a bunt is terrible, swing timing is horrendous and I play baseball a lot and rock on MLB The Show, Super Mega Baseball etc. It's impossible to bat on this game, the outfield timing is also slow and switches to the wrong players that aren't near the ball. Overall this is a big no in my book.

2/10 no local co-op and the game is borked had a man on 3rd, hit the ball and ran to first. they tossed the ball to home so i ran my 1st guy back and forth between 3 and home well the enemy AI was distracted and kept passing the ball. i ran my guy to 1st guy to 2nd. they managed to tag my 1st guy out before my 2nd guy could make it to 2nd base and tossed the ball to 1st base well my batter was still running. it counted as a double play. i dont think this game knows how to play baseball caught a ball and it didnt count as an out... tiny quick time events PERFECT and another PERFECT!!! annnd it said i missed..... the computer outfield AI seems to know what its doing but your AI is a joke... takes for ever to swap to them and they run faster once you control them. they will run the wrong way or it will auto swap you back and forth if the ball is in between two or more players.
