Dare I say that Life is Strange is one of the most influential games not only in gaming, but in media as a whole from the 2010s. Without a doubt, it's one of my favorite games ever made, and the amount of care, passion, and heart poured into it is still evident more than a decade later. For those unfamiliar, Life is Strange is a narrative-driven adventure game that follows Max Caulfield, a photography student who discovers she can rewind time. What starts as a supernatural mystery quickly becomes a deeply personal story about friendship, growing up, identity, loss, love, and the consequences of our choices. At its core, it's a game about people trying to find their place in the world. The first time I played this game, I was in middle school. Back then, I loved it for its characters, atmosphere, music, and emotional story. Replaying it now at 22 has been a completely different experience. Not only do I understand many of the more mature themes far better, but I also find myself relating much more to the characters and the stage of life they're in. There's something incredibly real about the uncertainty of early adulthood, the feeling that everyone is trying to figure out who they are and where they're going. Revisiting the game years later made those themes hit much harder than they did when I was younger. I also have to mention how important this game was for me personally as one of my first real exposures to queer media. What stands out even today is how naturally and thoughtfully it is portrayed. The relationships, emotions, and characters feel genuine rather than performative, and that authenticity is a big part of why the story has resonated with so many people over the years. The atmosphere remains unmatched. The soundtrack is incredible, the writing is memorable, and Arcadia Bay feels like a place that genuinely exists. Few games have managed to leave such a lasting impact on me long after the credits rolled. For anyone who hasn't played Life is Strange, this is an absolute must-play. Whether you're a gamer in general or someone who loves narrative-driven experiences, this is a game you owe it to yourself to experience at least once. More than ten years later, it remains a special and unforgettable journey.
