Warning: Asset Flip! Let's Pet Pets is a Digital Homicide style asset flip, or what Valve calls a "Fake Game". The "developer" paid for/pirated a few Synty Unity Asset Store packs, dumped them all in a blender, and submitted it to Valve as if they're real game developers.
What happened here is that Synty assets were lazily dumped onto a Unity clicker/incrementer template. The sole difference here, the one single contribution the "developer" made, was to switch the clicking to swiping your mouse around to pretent to "pet" the Synty asset the developer stole, instead of "clicking" on it. That's it. That's all there is. Do you know how hard it is to change "clicking" to "swiping"? Less than 2 minutes of game development effort. This guy wants your money for this. I guess he needs it to pay for all the fake reviews he bought from the usual Russian fake review farm accounts. Yeah, this asset flip is riddled with fake reviews. It's a scam. Two notable criteria for what makes an asset flip instead of legitimate use of stock assets are whether those assets comprise the majority of the game, and whether the "developer" properly credited the people who created most of the assets in the game. This game fails both of those tests. The "developers" here didn't credit any of the artists and real, actual game developers who created the assets here, so this is plagiarism, as well as cash grab shovelware. It has no value or merit as a real game. You still want to take this asset flip seriously? "Let's Pet Pets" isn't really a proper game, it's just a lazy "number incrementer" game where the object of the game is to increase the in-game currency by clicking, and sometimes buying things that increase the rate at which your currency/score goes up. It's an incredibly shallow game loop, to the point you might as well just run a program that does "i=i+1; print i" and watch the numbers go up automatically, and just watch it. You'd get the exact same outcome. If this sounds completely mindless, you're not wrong. The poor quality of this asset flip is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 12 players, and the worst part is these weren't genuine players, these were the Russian fake review accounts that the developer paid to make the fake reviews. Since the fake reviews are all done, now the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 100,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. Let's Pet Pets has the almost scam-like price of around $5 USD, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the unethical nature of the developer. For comparison, the $5 asking price for this game could get you games like "Hellblade: Sensua's Sacrifice", "Mass Effect" or "Borderlands 2". Quality, professionally made games like those are frequently on sale cheaper than this. They're all written in either Russian or broken English, appear at almost exactly the same time, very shortly after the game launched on Steam, all have a direct Steam purchase of the game, and the accounts are used consistently to write fake reviews for asset flips and other cash grabs/scams. The "Positive" review score on this game should be disregarded due to this blatant, unethical review manipulation. This is done to deceive and scam gamers into paying for a bad product.
Profile Features Limited! Valve have marked this game as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the game (to date). Until this status changes, this game will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this game.
You just wiggle your mouse around. There are no sound effects, the pets dont make noises, the upgrades are all out of order and make no sense. It was so disjointed that i honestly just gave up minutes into playing out of sheer boredom and disgust
EA Idler + mechanics + upgrades= Pokemon clicker with about 200 pets to collect. Do quests, level up and more. First challenge is figuring out how to hatch eggs. Fairly polished with more updates soon.
Follow our curator for similar games
I liked the idle parts and the artwork of this game, it is just cute and not too complicated. However, the "petting" mechanic is horrible. I think that it is more RSI-inducing than normal clinking would be, and for most of the game it would help but you don't need it... but they added achievements with a maximum of 1k hearts which you only unlock with petting... for hours!
A good clicker with cute animals. A great game for a relaxing pastime! It's really nice to play and very relaxing.
Hey at all Pets Lover^^ This is a gem you should uncover! It is early access so of course it not completely done but listen to this: 1. There are 195 different types of animals to discover!!! (Let´s say 35 are only different colors but still wow) 2. Each Animal has 10 lvls (it sounds easy but is not^^ readable in the patch notes) and 10 Hearts lvls 3. There are 15 different Upgrades that you can skill to lvl 99! 4. There are 55 different Helper skillable to lvl 1000 (I am not sure if it only one Helper lvl or all) with 55 different Items to improve them too! 5. How do you gain Pets? Through hatching! You hatch through swipeing the mouse over the egg its so cute! Now in the beginnig of the game you may roll your eye´s and say nope to boring for me. But there is a wonderfull button called "Prestige" after petting your pet it will activate and you gain lots of Hearts Point (with time it will improve like all the other things) with those you can Upgrade to your own way of playing this game or buy Eggs! There are even a ton of Quest for each animal, for the helpers and for doing "Point Pet Bonus round" etc. The Game File is auto saved so no need to worrie^^ *Note*: Be aware to not click on the Button "Prestige" without checking the last sentence: "Gain xxx/xxx Heart Points" only when those numbers are red you should click on it. Next first read through all Upgrades and Helpers and other explainations (holding mouse on "All" Button as example). It could help you to more easily making the right decision for Upgrading. HInt: "There is a quide" And my last nagging: It is nice for children too age 6+ (of course the parents should have them on their lap and explain some things^^ But it can be a fun time for each of you.^^ This game cost only 5 Euro´s. There is an legendary Pet that I love the most and ppl from china too^^ Greetings a big fan PS: Thx Developer nice work and thx for your friends and workers who help!!! The Annouce of you where very fresh and lovable I am happy that I stumbled over this game.
10 out of 10 hatching of a cow from an egg, and so I was nostalgic for tamagotchi.. cool game

Cookie Clicker, but without the clicking!
If you've ever played a Clicker game, you know how addictive they can be. Like in Runescape, you want to see those virtual numbers rise and your account expand in size. However, this isn't your average clicker game. You can actually minimise it in the background while you do other things, which I find to be very satisfying. Doing multiple tasks at once to achieve that big number dopamine. It's a move your mouse clicker game, not a clicker game. Points are awarded for moving your mouse around the screen to pet the animals. More points equate to more pets to pet. Unlock additional items, construct a farm, and collect more. That's all. What are you going to do? It may sound boring or repetitive. It's one of those things. You may easily play it AFK after constructing a large farm and then returning to check on it on a daily basis. There isn't much else to say. It's as simple as can be.
Conclusion
I come back to it every so often, even though I thought I would only play it for a brief amount of time. It's just a casual and relaxing experience.
Fun game, you need to buy pets and earn stars. In this game, time flies fast, I spent the whole evening :D
This is a pet collector idle game. You get eggs, hatch them, pet pets, get points, buy helpers to get more points automatically, get more pets and build stuff on your island. If you want to do those things in a chill game, this is for you. Positives: - The pets are super cute. Petting them is everything I want in life. Pet Time Bonus with Rainbowfrog gives me a level of serotonin that should probably be illegal. - There are a lot of pets. If you're hoping for a particular animal, there's a good chance it's there. The dev just added a pet named after a streamer I follow (that's how I found this game). Hopefully there will be many more like this so we can all fulfil our parasocial dreams of petting our favourite streamers. - The dev clearly has experience of idle games, and the mechanics that someone who has played lots of them would expect are mostly there. I'm very pleased that I don't lose my pets when ascending, that would not be okay. - Along with that, there are some somewhat unusual features: You can build stuff on your island, kinda like Animal Crossing or something. As well as considerably increasing the potential play hours, this gives some nice personalisation which most idle games lack. - Some might say a lot of the game "makes no sense". Why does a cow hatch from a egg? How does it live in a pen with an alligator? Why does it need a demolitionist helper? Some people are weak. This is perfect. Drawbacks: - The game is early access. It's not broken, but the graphics are minimalist in many cases (imo many of the pets have perfect graphics that should never be changed but some could use some work), and there are a few mild bugs (scientific notation is not correctly represented). - Compared to other idle games, the progress curve is very fast. Tbh I would like to see some aspects slowed down so that I spend more time actually petting and building heart levels with my favourites rather than just spamming eggs because I completed hundreds of quests and got thousands of hearts after an hour or so of playtime. Maybe I just found a loophole with the "completionist bonus" upgrade being overtuned? Tbf I think for early access it's probably better than the game has a fast progress curve so that more meaningful testing can be done. But once it's closer to the final product I personally would like to see a slower curve that gives more time for actual petting. Overall: Extremely worth the small amount of money. I already consider the joy I have got so far to be worth the investment, anything else is just bonus.
