Edit (switched to negative review): I found that this game is just a compiled version of this Unity Template, so 0 effort from the dev. https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/templates/packs/endless-car-chase-game-template-116027 I just refunded it, I don't want to contribute to this kind of practices. Original Review (positive): I like to write and train AI for games trough machine learning. I am sure this will be an easy project, totally recommended if you are starting. Just a request for the devs: please enable vsync as an option, there's no point on having thousands of fps wasting machine resources.
I mean yeah it's a buck or less but I don't really feel like you even get what you pay for on this one. The map is just a grid and you don't really have to do much except wiggle the stick once in a while. Not even a great time killer.

The Pros: I think this is a game by new developers. I don't know this for a fact, but I'm guessing based on the fact that this game is a clone of the mobile game "Smashy Road", my guess is this is an attempt at cloning a game and just making a small similar game out of it to learn the basics in Unity and similar. So, I want to be clear on the rating. The game is a dollar. Based on that, so long as it works, I'm going to rate it good. It's simple. It's casual. It allows for improvements. It isn't costly. The Cons: Unfortunately, and I say this on the Linux front, the game is affected by the popular Unity bug where it is missing time zone data and will not start: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/944 Note that this game does not require Proton, but what it will require is for a user to add as a launch option: TZ="America/New York" Obviously, the above will vary based on one's timezone information which is typically stored in "/usr/share/zoneinfo". This environment variable is the time zone variable that sets the timezone information. To understand the bug, click on the link. I also discovered that for me, achievements were not recorded unless I played full screen. Those are two odd issues. Beyond those issues, the game also suffers some quirks. I'll call them quirks because I can't say if it is intentional, but if you keep driving in a specified area, hills will start to spawn. My guess is that the algorithm for creating hills needs modified as they will keep spawning in an area that you stay. You can end up with walls made of hills. Next, the game suffers from no real path for upgrades. You can buy the other vehicles that the game offers, but why would you? The initial vehicle is the best vehicle used to play the game. One is at a considerable disadvantage playing any of the other vehicles one could purchase. Finally, and noting the game is a clone of Smashy Road, the game suffers its same limitations: the interface/perspective is your true enemy. It's as if you are driving a vehicle with cataracts; you can't see very far behind or in front of you. The exception is if one has a 16:9 display and drives at either the top left or top right angle. Combine this with the issue that hills are spawning all the time in an area, and one south turn will land you straight into a hill that wasn't there before. That being said, should the developer correct the above issues, I'll make sure to change my rating of the game to "Recommended". Granted many would argue that point based on the game's simplicity, but it is a cheap game simply for playing casual. I have no problems with that.
Simples, objetivo é legal! Um rápido passatempo divertido! Missão simples e sem enrolação. Recomendo!
Crazy Driver is just a cheap and simple game - but it's quite fun! You flee in your vehicle as you're being chased by the police, who try to crash into you. The longer you last, the greater the number of police vehicles who join in the pursuit. If they crash into you too many times, or if you smash into a mountain, your vehicle explodes. You can pick up money as you go along, by driving over the various wads of money left lying on the ground. There are also some tool kits you can drive over, in order to repair your vehicle. With the money you collect you can buy different types of vehicles, which can have different speeds, armour, etc. Personally, I liked the pickup truck - I felt like I was starring in The Dukes of Hazzard, being chased by Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane. The police vehicles which chase after you, and crash into you, can also crash into each other (or into mountains). You can get achievements for the game based upon how many police vehicles are destroyed. The achievements in the game are very easy to get, with the last one requiring you to "Destroy 100 cars". I had assumed that you'd have to destroy 100 cars in one round, but not so, they just add up as you go along. (Actually, I had assumed the achievements were regarding the police vehicles, but maybe they were re. the player's vehicle - I'll have to get someone else to check that for me.) The graphics are extremely basic, but they were fine with me. A top-down camera view is used. I don't know how much replayability there would be in the game, but it's very cheap (especially if, like me, you buy it on sale), so even if you play it for half an hour to an hour or so, you'll get your money's worth. If you like car games, and aren't too fussed about graphics, then I recommend you give Crazy Driver a try - just for a bit of light-hearted fun.
Warning: Asset Flip!
Crazy Driver is a Unity Asset flip, what Valve calls a "fake game". The "developer", SRS Games, took the Endless Car Chase Game Template Unity Store tutorial/demo/game asset pack from the real developers, Puppeteer, changed the name, and dumped the result onto Steam. They're attempting to scam people into buying this, so they can get your money for someone else's work. It gets worse... "Endless Car Chase Game Template" has also been shamelessly dumped on Steam by other asset flippers apart from SRS Games:

"Police Hot Pursuit", asset flipped by Oriplay/TITA Studios
"Police Chase", asset flipped by Studio Inward/Cow Corp
"Mini Car Money Chase", asset flipped by KazakovStudios
Take a look for yourself... these are all exactly the same game! SRS Games has a known history of trying to scam people into paying them money for someone else's work. One example of SRS Games doing this is PLANES ATTACK, which is really the "2D Top Down Shooter - Destroy The Planes (Infinite Mobile Game)" asset, written by the actual developers, Steelkrill Studio. The products that result from asset flips aren't "real" games. They lack depth and content, because they're just simplistic copies of demos or tutorials. In this case, "Endless Car Chase Game Template" is just a barebones low poly top down micro racer game template, and doesn't have any merit as a proper, fully fledged PC game, so a copy+paste of it can't be recommended. Asset flips don't involve any professional game development. Sure, sometimes they may change a few cosmetic things, swap out different assets etc, but at heart it's functionally identical to the asset they're ripping off. Asset flips like this are harmful to the gaming industry and to Steam because they reduce the visibility that sincerely made indie games should have, and make it harder for gamers to find real games from genuine developers. Don't reward this morally bankrupt, unethical behaviour from SRS Games.

Crazy Driver is a game that does one thing and does it perfectly. Probably one of the best buys I've made on Steam, and a great look at what makes a video game fun.
