Legends of the Round Table

It's hard to think of anything I can add which isn't stated up front on the store page, but perhaps it is enough to say that the promise of a truly arthurian world presented in videogame format is fulfilled here to the utmost. If the idea of playing a game that is completely faithful to arthuriana in every facet of its design is appealing to you, then you will love this game without a doubt.

If there was a mixed option I would pick it. A super interesting concept with tons of love and passion clearly. But the gameplay itself is just lacking depth and replayability. I also recently learned just how few quests are in the game. All that being said I do think you should buy it when it goes on sale, you will at the very least get a few really enjoyable gaming sessions before moving on. I hope these developers continue making passion projects like this.

Beautifully artistic and made with a lot of passion. An interesting albeit niche adventure into Arthurian and Anglo mythology! I really hope more people play this so it can find a following it very much deserves. I applaud the creators for realizing this risky passion project. Such is the human condition.

Il est encore bien trop tôt pour que je juge l'ensemble de l'aventure, mais une chose est déjà évidente : ce jeu transpire l'amour de la légende arthurienne. Dès les premières minutes, tout m'a séduit. La direction artistique est magnifique, la bande-son est superbe, et l'ambiance qui se dégage de chaque scène est tout simplement envoûtante. On sent que rien n'a été fait par hasard. Chaque illustration, chaque morceau de musique, chaque dialogue semble avoir été conçu avec un profond respect pour les récits du Roi Arthur et de la Table Ronde. Aujourd'hui, beaucoup de jeux cherchent à impressionner par leur démesure. **Legends of the Round Table**, lui, choisit de toucher le joueur par son authenticité et par l'amour évident que ses créateurs portent à leur univers. C'est une véritable déclaration d'amour à la chevalerie. Ce qui me rend triste, en revanche, c'est de voir que cette pépite ne semble pas avoir trouvé son public pour le moment. À mes yeux, elle mériterait d'être bien plus mise en avant. Ce jeu m'a fait ressentir la même chose que Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 : cette certitude que derrière chaque image, chaque musique et chaque ligne de dialogue se trouvent des développeurs qui ont créé leur œuvre avec une passion sincère. Malheureusement, contrairement à Clair Obscur, qui a su rencontrer le succès qu'il mérite, Legends of the Round Table semble pour l'instant être passé sous les radars. J'espère vraiment que cela changera. Je voudrais également adresser un immense merci aux développeurs. Merci d'avoir pris le risque de créer un jeu aussi atypique, aussi sincère et aussi fidèle à son inspiration. Dans une industrie où il est souvent tentant de suivre les tendances, vous avez choisi de raconter une histoire qui vous tient à cœur, et cela se ressent dans chaque détail. Votre travail est magistral, et je n'en suis pourtant qu'aux premières heures. J'ai déjà hâte de poursuivre cette épopée arthurienne et de découvrir tout ce que vous avez préparé pour les chevaliers qui accepteront de partir en quête. Merci pour cette œuvre. J'espère de tout cœur qu'elle recevra, avec le temps, toute la reconnaissance qu'elle mérite.

i have enjoyed this game tremendously.

I love how the story is told. Songs, narrations, writing and art are all excellent works. Combat is mostly good, challenging but easy to learn. Glory is what bothers me the most, of which the standard of acquisition is fickle. Sometimes you need to show mercy to enemy knights to reach twelve, sometimes you can just kill the enemy knights and still reach twelve. An indicator is direly needed. All in all a good game, hoping it gets a sequel.

It's a good game. It's pros are unique mechanics, music, atmosphere and overall aesthetics. It's true to high medieval visions of Arthur, so if you like those, then you will like LoRT and if you don't like such atmosphere then you won't like this game. Cons? It can be sometimes tedious, battles need more variations and strategies (you don't have any reason for using axe, bow or mace in battle, at least I only used it only once), you forget about any treasures your knights gain in their adventures because you can't swap them and so on. I think it's not feasible for DLC, but if there would be a sequel it would be good for this game to lean more into it's Pendragon TTRPG inspirations: making your own knight (then gained treasures would be important), managing your domain and inheritance and navigating Arthurian Legend through time.
