I give this a mild recommend. Definitely has room for improvement to fix some bugs and balancing issues, but I'd like to think the designer will work on it. I feel like you kind of know what you're in for. It's not a particularly deep or interesting bit of a game, but oh well. It has a style and is not particularly expensive. Pretty stupid.
Charming little game. Scratches that itch to have running in the background while you do other stuff.
This is the only soccer game. I hope to see its genius improvements added to the "real" sport soon, which would greatly increase its popularity worldwide. I may be a stupid American but if a ninja attacked Messi I would sit up straight and pay attention.

Finally, a soccer game without all that soccer! A cute little incremental game full of silly ideas and a fun soundtrack.
Okay, the moment I heard that Sos Sosowski (the McPixel guy) made an incremental game I busted into the Steam store like the Kool Aid Man and slammed my money down so hard they felt it in the southern hemisphere. Then he was like "hey do any content creators want to review the game?" and I said "Ha! Joke's on you, I already bought it! BWAHAHAHAHAHA." and said I'd review it anyway. So here's that review. This is, without a doubt, my favorite soccer game. It's got all the genre staples, from zombies and wizards to giant ball-sucking combines and chickens that lay eggs that explode into hordes of ball-headed maniacs who charge into the goal. Wait, soccer doesn't have any of that? Okay, soccer sucks then, and Sos made it better. On a serious note, from a person who plays a lot of incremental games (I have two going at this very moment) I very much enjoyed this one. It's the right amount of silly, has some great options that other games need to implement (like actively changing the roles your players have), and has a prestige system that's level/match-based where I didn't realize it was a prestige system until the end of the game. Your players can also get run over by McPixel on a bike, so there's that. I keep turning back to jokes, but that's just how this game is. You keep trying to play it seriously but then realize that you need more hooligans because ninjas keep beating the crap out of your farmers and that this is a soccer game and you end up wishing this is what the World Cup was like. Also, that I got 22 hours out of a $2.99 game is a steal. It's fun, it'll make you question your life, and it supports someone who genuinely seems like a decent person. Just go buy it.
This is an excellent game to play in the background while you are doing other things, and is really fun to tab back into every few minutes to check on how your team is going. Absolutely would recommend after spending the majority of my work day playing it.

Warning: This game does NOT feel like soccer. At all. So as a soccer game Lazy Kickers was a huge disappointment to me. There are other games like Ganbare! Super Strikers on Steam which feel like soccer without being simulations. As an incremental game it starts out okay. Enough chaos to let you play around with balancing and different builds. And you can redistribute the points of the first meta progression layer as often as you want at basically no cost. And there is more than one build that works well. In a nutshell, this game gives you a bit of agency. Something not often seen in incremental games. After 10 hours or so it becomes really boring and repetitive. Still, I probably did get 2-3 hours of entertainment out of it, so together with its low price, I give it a thumbs up.
If you've played a game from Sos, you know a lot of the visual style you're getting here. Goofy, but really interesting pixel art. However, not having seen any sort of incremental games from Sos before, I was definitely interested. I played a bunch of the demo before release, and it feels like he absolutely gets what makes these kinds of games really pleasant to just have on in the background. There's enough small but meaningful choices on how to upgrade your team to deal with the different obstacles in the way. At first, your team will be small. You'll need to decide how your want them to spend their time. Do you want them working on growing soccer balls (as an American, I assume this is just how soccer works,) or do you want them to be shooting goals when they finally sprout? How many people do you need to collect the coins you get from scoring? Then, as you begin the "prestige," mechanic, you start getting introduced to new challenges. Ninjas will try to stop your players from shooting on the goal, so you need to figure out how many soccer hooligans you want playing defense against these challenges. You'll encounter wind turbines, so you'll need to start really investing in players movement speed, but how much is it really worth? Its got just enough of those hooks that keep incremental games like this interesting. Plus, it's only $3, you're really not losing out on much money-wise. Also, go play McPixel and McPixel 3 for goodnessake. I got this McPixel dryhumping a PS3 to Benny Hill music background for my Steam profile and I want more people to know what the hell it is. *Edit* The only thing I'd like to see improved currently is for the widget mode to allow you to just drag and drop the widget version anywhere on screen, instead of needing to manually click the arrow buttons on screen to position it. And it's not much of an issue if you're just playing on one computer, but I use both my work laptop and my home computer at different times, so it is just a bit of a pain. **Edit, Edit** It's a REALLY big pain in the buns that the up arrow is directly beneath the Quit button, so if you're rapidly clicking the up arrow, half the time you're accidentally clicking the close button.
Fire Gianni Infantino and hire Sos Sosowski as FIFA president.
