The game is good looking, the atmosphere and setting is great, the first half hour is just really good and shows what this game COULD have been, but this ain't it chief. Game lacks consistency, you have two buttons to work with and sometimes they dont even respond to what I'm pressing. It is only SOMETIMES responsive and thats extremely, extremely frustrating. And it kind of forgo's most of the roots of the Gorefield comedic bits for a rather lame 2D platformer with lots, and lots, and lots of platforming. And minecarts, which are where I get the most amount of frustration as its inconsistent performance will either leave me dying to the very first obstacle for no good reason, or send me cartwheeling into the bottomless pit for no good reason. It's a frustrating time once it suckers you in, and just isn't worth the flat 4 hours I wasted trying to make platforms that I couldn't jump to because my guy didn't jump. It just isn't a good time for me, and there's hardly anything worth coming back to.
very fun and challenging i played before and it just felt like last time
Although quote short, the overall length is perfect. Wanna have fun for a few hours with a game boy zelda style game? Here you go.
a movimentacao e muito ruim mas me arrempedi de ter desistalado o game
Having fun with this game, would recommend. Here's a list of pros and cons: Cons: -Definitely not for impatient people -Challenging (this can be a pro depending on your preference, personally I find it challenging without being impossible which makes it fun) -Controls are very weird for keyboard (e.g when opening gates using bolt cutters, you have to use a combination which gets reversed on PC, B becomes Z, and A becomes spacebar, it's confusing) -Camera can be janky and can throw you off when you're jumping across two platforms -Doesn't save nearly as much as I would like personally, it saves in sections after you clear an area entirely -There are no objectives so some things might not be as obvious, if you're like me, you might spend a few minutes walking around trying to find which way to go next -The gunshot noise for the henchmen shooting you is SUPER loud (almost earrape) -Makes you sit through the opening credits whenever you die (this could be part of its charm since it's kind of gameboy styled idk, for me it was kind of annoying) -You have to spam B/A to turn levers and things but it still happens slowly, carpel tunnel incoming Pros: -Super nice to look at -Gives you three color settings to play with -Music is nothing too fancy but it compliments the game well and lets you focus -Challenging -Ambience, story and immersion are done decently, it follows that cheesy underdog hero story line but it kinda works here -Creative level designs -Amazing looking characters, monsters and artwork, providing an imaginative atmosphere -Has a sort of 3D effect going on with the forefront and the background layout -Cool time waster for how many hours you could get out of it -Some funny sound effects -Spooky -Bunch of easter eggs -Does provide a fair amount of lives before you die (imo, I still ran out heaps of times but they helped cut down the game over screens compared to if I only had like 3 lives or something) -Dialogue is good and there isn't too much of it -Garfield references -Cheap, for $4.44 it's worth it I'd say, feels like it's worth more than that.
I first seen this game at Alpha Beta Gamer Video... And I wanted to play it. I ended a game today and... It was one of best Horror games I played. The story seems simple at first... but the further into the darkness, the more unique it becomes. Shooting monsters is satisfying, especially the last bosses. Platforming sections are sometimes hard but that's good. Overall, the game is quite difficult, but not on the level of Dark Souls. But the thing that fascinated me the most was the graphics. The whole game looks like as if it was seriously created in the times of the classic Game Boy. Animations are smooth and legible. I can see that you created this game with passion. You can see how much attention you paid to detail. For example, raindrops hitting the floor can be seen to splash. Light effects are unique thing in this game. I don't recommend to turn off lighter when you are at the dark zone. Plus the animation of climbing the stairs to the tower is creative and pleasing to the eye. Music in this game is quite good... It gives an amazing atmosphere, Combine this with the previously mentioned graphics and then... It gives you feeling like you really walk through corridors of this castle... But sadly, The game has its drawbacks.. That being Minecart sections,I don't say they are bad, but controls are a bit clunky, it can easily flip you and makes you fall into abyss. Overall, I think this game is one of the best Hidden Gems of Steam. My Honest Rating of this game is 9.5/10.
