A highly recommended game, full of possibilities. If you like classic RPGs or MMOs, you'll love this game. I especially appreciate the variety of classes, races, and customization options! Although it's in Early Access, the developer is constantly updating it, so you'll find it's a live and evolving game.
This game proves you don't need flashy visuals or overly complex systems to create an engaging adventure. Its simple yet well executed gameplay, intuitive mechanics, enjoyable exploration, and satisfying variety come together to deliver a fun experience from start to finish. With its non linear open world, party based progression, and classic RPG feel, Landonia is an easy game to get into and a genuinely enjoyable one to keep playing.
Game is interesting in its own right, but also a bit confusing. Most of the time i felt like the game was to be played without mouse, move WASD, attacks one numbers, interact on E, normal deal, but for every item i want to interact with or pick up i need to mouse over and that just felt weird. Combat is switchable between "turn based" and "continues", not sure how turn based works as i didnt figure it out, the other one works fine for most part tho at the end my range markers broke so i had to eyeball all the spell ranges even more, as the game only (normaly) provides normal attack range markers and not spell ranges (was playing mage). Had bad experience with companions in game as they were body blocking me and even tho friendly fire was OFF they still took damage from my spells and proceded to kill me XD. Map isnt really helpful as its just a picture of the current map art and as such its hard to orient on it. Moving on diferent maps is near impossible without the grid active (need to activate with X) as its unclear what is a path and what is just a wall. For story i got lost as there is no markers or log and some directions are hard to follow XD. At the end i also crashed due to buying and learning a spell. As is i cant realy recomend the game, but its a nice lil thingy that one can get lost in for a bit.
It’s a fun game that successfully captures the atmosphere of classic RPGs. The character progression system and combat mechanics make for a fantastic gaming experience. The controls take a little getting used to at first, but they become more fluid as you play. Overall, I enjoyed the game and would recommend it.
Tried Landonia for a bit and it was a pretty chill experience. RPG style game with grinding, exploring, and building your party how you want. Took me a little time to get used to the controls and menus, but after that it was easy enough to play. It’s not a super polished game, but for something made by a solo developer, there’s a decent amount of content and different ways to play. Good game to hop into for some casual combat and progression.
Landonia has that old-school RPG charm where you can just wander around, fight, grind levels, and slowly figure things out at your own pace. Considering it was made by a solo developer, there’s a surprising amount of depth with the different classes, party system, and combat styles. The tutorial was straightforward and helped me get into the game pretty quickly. The controls felt a little awkward at first, but after some time they started to click. I didn’t get too deep into exploration yet, but for a casual session of adventuring and combat, it’s definitely a fun little game to jump into.
Fantastic old-school RPG. Loving it so far!
The game description mentions that this game is a tribute to old-school RPGs and early MMORPGs. I think this game manage to capture the vibe of those games. The game can be played in two modes, action style or turn-based style. It has several races and class that you can combine which makes the game has a huge replayability value by trying different class that's available in the game. It might takes a while to familiarized with the game system/mechanics, but once you get past that, there's many to discover in the game. One issue that I'd like to mention is that the quest tracker doesn't seem to be fully functional yet, so I have to pay attention on NPC's message to track what to do next. Aside from that, it takes a while to level up. But what's an MMO without a bit of grinding, right? If you like games with classic MMORPG vibes, you might want to check this game out.
After spending a few hours with this, I was surprised by how much content and exploration it offers. What started as a simple old school RPG quickly turned into an adventure filled with interesting quests, hidden areas, useful loot, memorable characters, and rewarding progression. I especially enjoyed exploring new regions, discovering secret locations, improving my character, and slowly learning how the world connects together. The amount of systems, equipment, shops, spells, and exploration packed into the game is impressive, especially considering it was made by a solo developer. There is still room for growth, but the foundation is strong and the gameplay kept me engaged far longer than I expected. If you enjoy classic RPGs with meaningful exploration and character progression, this is easy to recommend. 👍
If you enjoy old-school hardcore RPGs, you'll probably feel right at home with Landonia. The combat requires strategy and resource management, the classes feel well balanced, and the game rewards players who explore and manage their gold wisely. I especially enjoyed the Colosseum mode, which is a great option if you want to focus on combat, and the bestiary also deserves praise for being both well designed and genuinely useful throughout your progression. I played both an Ogre Barbarian and a Human Mage. Since I almost always prefer strength-based characters, I had more fun with the Barbarian, but both classes left a good impression. Throughout my playtime, I didn't encounter any bugs or performance issues. One thing I really appreciated is that Landonia doesn't try to simplify its identity to appeal to everyone, and I consider that one of its biggest strengths. If you're looking for a classic, challenging RPG that stays true to the roots of the genre, I think it's definitely worth checking out.
