Reviews
I never reviewed even my most favorite games somehow, but something told me I just had to leave my two cents about this hidden treasure of a visual novel. Had this game added to my library years ago but only played it for the first time few days ago and was completely blown away by what a gem this is! Everything's here: interesting world-building, believable characters with understandable motivations, plot twists i didn't imagine to anticipate, the artstyle is beautiful and the voice acting is so good! The writing is simply brilliant and it touched me and made me cry and laugh and actually worry for the characters's well being and made me want to save all of them at once (you can't). I had no idea a free game could be THIS good, Lake of Voices deserves so much praise and I wish many more people would play it!

Lake of Voices Game Review (Disclaimer - This is just my opinion and may be unpopular or disliked. The game does very lightly touch topics of suicide so if that makes you uncomfotable this game might not be for you.) (General) 1. This game is a visual novel. 2. The story is about two people who have to make a journey across a bridge to a location and back, but the lake is filled with creatures that are the antagonist to people crossing the bridge. (Positive) 1. It is longer than most visual novels I have played so far, but still short enough to play in one sitting. (I played it in between work tasks so it was paused for a lot of the game time. I estimate that playing it from start to finish eperiencing all of the story would take maybe 7 hours if not less.) 2. The characters have diversity and don't feel like a copy paste of one another. 3. The story isn't too complex, but is done well and does keep you engaged. 4. The game feels a lot like a dark fantasy, but not graphic enough to fit into the adult section so it could be seen as very teen. (That isn't a bad thing I am just using it as a reference.) 5. The different story paths are well thought out and the game really shows that they took their time to think about it and implement things. (The effort is appreciated) 6. The art style is very beautiful. (Negative) 1. It was marketed as a horror and it has eerie elements, but I won't go that far. 2. The slightest choice differences all have different paths making it tedious to play over-and-over, but they do have a skip function so that helped a lot. 3. When you get to the one location in the game which was your mission all along it isn't really clear why you went at all as you only spend awhile there and then start making your way back. (This kinda put a hole in the story, but other than that it was pretty good.) 4. Due to it being a visual novel, people who don't enjoy reading won't give it a shot and it does deserve a try. (Tip: Save slots are your best friend for multiple play-throughs.)
Best visual novel I've played. The skip feature is convenient when exploring various storylines. The twist was so fun and unexpected.
Long live the Nixi
I played and 100% this game more than 3 years ago, and I still think about it from time to time. What a phenominal game. -The art is visually pleasant, every part of it -The characters are compelling and unique, realistic goals and motives -The world building is so interesting, the setting is such a unique concept! -Choices and routes really make you want to go back and choose different paths -The plot twist was genuinely intriguing For the game being absolutely FREE, there is nothing stopping anyone from trying this game. I cannot recommend this game enough.

bad game
What an amazing story. Beautilful art, engaging plot and memorable characters. I also liked that the different routes you can take are well defined and that the story isn't too long, so I could play all routes. I volunteer to translate this into Spanish for free if creators are interested. 100/10
Felt like I was reading a physical book. Every ending had me on edge trying to piece it all together, and the full picture did not disappoint.
