kinda short and wasnt worth the 19 minutes of playing time
Created from the Advanced Games Project at the University of Southern California, Lake Minnewaska follows Sosa, a father on a fishing journey to fill a scrapbook of caught fish for his daughter, Rue. Catching each fish plays through a simple mini-game, hooking left and right with mouse movements and reeling by pressing and holding left mouse. While there’s only a few fish to catch and traversing around the lake requires simple button navigation on a map, the real catch is the emotional weight carried through the short story. With each fish caught, photoed, and logged in your book, another layer of Sosa’s relationship with Rue is peeled back, delivering a surprising amount of emotional depth for a ~20 minute gaming project. It’s a quick but potent look into the value of love and grief and knowing when to hold onto and let go of both.
Bom jogo, bem curto. Achei legal a história, porem bem rasa, pelo preço que paguei (grátis), vale a pena.
Enjoyed my experience with this. If you're interested at all go on and play it.
Lake Minnewaska is an okay casual fishing game and it's published by USC Games the same people that published other great free games like The WereCleaner and Smoke Break, now this is where I talk about the story but I can't really go into it without going into spoilers, so this is just about a man who is on a fishing trip. Okay then likes, the story is very good I love the messages of loss, grief and how we process those emotions, it also has some good environmental storytelling as well. The gameplay is good it's pretty simple you just catch fish, nothing too complicated. The graphics are very good with pretty nice uses of colors, sceneries and designs, that's really makes everything stand out, I also really like the watercolors they use for the opening and ending cutscenes. The levels are good, the lake feels real with interesting locations that make you just want to stop and stare at it all. The music is good it fits very well with the game. The voice acting is good; the actors do a very good job voicing their characters. The game is also free so that's good. Okay then dislikes, I would have liked to have a few achievements for the game even if they were simple you caught this fish and you beat the game, but that's just small stuff to in otherwise okay game. Now that’s all done with Lake Minnewaska is an okay casual fishing games and it's published by USC game the same people that published other great free games like The WereCleaner and Smoke Break, it has a very good story, good gameplay and good levels, so do I recommend this game yes if you're looking for a short free time waster this could be for you and like The WereCleaner I hope the makers of this game make another game.
The story is one that is sweet and decently written. if you enjoy 15 min games with a decent story with a decent fishing mechanic, this ones for you. I'd absolutely recommend it on the art style alone though. ne of my favorite things in games is a good fishing mechanic. This one is better than most, but it doesn't seem theres much of a consequence to missing part of the mechanic.
