Labyrinth of Chaos

I got stuck in a building a level or 2 into the game in which I got surrounded by enemies after I pulled a lever. I kept getting stunned after 1 hit and died very quickly. Retried that section about 3 to 4 times. I was really missing some kind of hint on how to progress. Did I pull the wrong lever? Am I supposed to get there later? Is there some ability I'm not aware of? I don't recommend this currently but I might revisit this in the future after some changes.
