About
Gallia is a land where thoughts become power.
For a hundred years, that land has been at war. Dragons — the manifestation of hatred itself — rise from the earth and fall to the blades of those brave enough to stand against them. Empires have held the line. Generations have given their lives. But the hatred that fuels the dragons has only grown.
A new order has risen to answer it. Knight Commander Fiona has taken a Gesh — a binding oath that turns hope into power — and she is calling for knights to take it with her.
You are one of those knights now.
Knights of Fiona is a full-scale VR JRPG from CharacterBank, the team behind Ruinsmagus. Built from the ground up for VR, it follows Fiona's sworn order as they fight for a future nobody else believes is possible. Play solo with companions at your side, or take the adventure online with up to two friends as the three of you share one oath.
Every quest is a party quest. Every blade is held by a real hand. Every victory is a victory shared.
Sworn together. Coming 2026.
⚔️ A World Where Thoughts Become Power Gallia's warriors fight with the strength of their convictions. In Knights of Fiona, the weight of your oath is the weight of your blade. Every strike carries not just force but belief — and in a VR JRPG built around physical combat, both matter.
🤝 Sworn Together A Knight Commander's Gesh is shared by every knight who answers it. Play solo with trusted companions at your side, or take the full adventure online with up to two friends. Every quest is a three-knight quest. Every bond is a source of strength.
🏰 A Deep, Hand-Crafted World Explore the city of Geogallia — from its train station to its seaside ports — between missions. Meet a cast of unique NPCs in the hub town, take quests from the board, and experience a full JRPG story built for the scale and presence only VR can deliver. Localized by Nob Ogasawara, the translator behind Pokémon, Dragon Quest, and Yakuza.
Experienced on the Meta Quest 3
You can view my VR gameplay & impressions here: https://youtu.be/gYc-4wlYusE So I can give this a neutral recommendation. I played the Free to Play portion of this experience. After playing it, I think the free to play portion is alright. However, I have absolutely no temptation to buy the $18.99 USD Knights of Fiona Story Pass because I wasn't impressed. Was the game bad? No, it's alright for a small indie team VR JRPG. It's lacking the production values you'd expect from a flat screen JRPG. However, the gameplay also lacked depth for my taste. It was rather simple. Now, there are different weapons and there's a parry system, along with special attacks. So there's the promise of maybe the combat being more dynamic in the future. However, what I played just devolved into mindless hacking and slashing. The party setup or configuration didn't matter and the weapons didn't matter. Also, I was not a fan of all the monetization in the game. I get that it's FREE to Play and the devs need to make money. However, they're charging money for "day passes" and "containers." I'd rather pay a one time fee and then own the game and not have to worry about having to pay extra to get a container for my weapons. I'm okay with cosmetics being monetized, especially in a F2P game, but I think they want too far. Game is running on the Unity Engine. On my RTX 5090, I was getting a steady 72 fps (yes, I've rolled back to 72 fps as a default because a lot of VR games run heavy on my 5090). Anyways, you have full locomotion & teleportation, smooth and snap turning. You can play comfortably seated. The game is janky / buggy. I honestly thought it was in Early Access. Rate 5.5/10. I mean I probably would have given a negative review if I had paid $18.99 USD for this experience (maybe but I guess I'll never know since I have zero temptation to do so), but since it was free, I can be forgiving.
If you enjoyed my review, please consider joining my Steam Curator group Oculus Rift Reviews.
I have only played the beginning, but as a VR game developer my self, I can see that a lot of work and thought went into this game. It is definitely JRPG influenced, the visuals and story are very much in that genre. The gameplay is good, takes a bit of time in the tutorial section to figure out, but easy enough. It is hub based, with one being the open area lobby and the others being things like the quests, shops and etc. Think "anime guild wars 1" in a way. If anime or JRPGs are your thing, you like VR and you want to scratch that itch, this will do the trick.
I literally saw this game yesterday in my reccomeded que, played about an hour ish so the prolouge and tutorial. Honestley its pretty well made, enjoyed it. Only thing i wish is that there was more character creator options in the game as a big thing with Rpgs is either having a well fleshsed out character that is a set character or very good character customization. Without the single character to play through and the online co-op part i would prefer to have some more options for customization. Overall though i actually had more fun than i have in other vr games.
This looks so cool, I really tried to give it a fair chance. There's no instruction on how to do anything. I don't know how to equip a weapon, I don't know how to manage inventory, I don't know how to use the story pass I spent $17 on (which I will be refunding), and the text and menus are too far away from me and I can't read them and there are no accessibility options. The load times are atrocious. There's no way to just play single player or privately with friends. You have to play on the server, which is part of where the horrible load times come from. This is a game of micro transactions. You options are very limited. Want to be a human female? Too bad. If you want to play as a human, you got to be male. If you want to be female, you got to be some weird bunny race. No thanks.
Meh, Combats janky, makes me calibrate every 5 seconds
Had issues even getting the game to launch with SteamVR, this is the only Steam game I've ever played that hasn't just worked and required messing with launch parameters to get it to load. But even when it did work, the game just isn't that good. The combat feels clunky and unintuitive and I can't stand "cutscenes" in VR games that pull you of of first person and break the immersion. Loading is also long and frequent. I was looking forward to this game and was thinking we'd finally have a good properly made for VR JRPG and I still think it could be that, but right now I can't recommend it.
Tried it for 30 minutes... couldnt figure out what to do more than Tutorials and see 5-6 NPCs saying "not aviable for free version" so.. yeah, didnt get a chance to even try what ever they showed during the tutorial, thought it was going to be one of those "freemium" games, like, pay for skins, but the game is free well, there is an actual skin n shi shop, but, watching the "buy the fullv ersion or gtfo" didnt catch me fully, i did have some hopes into this game,
Really sad to see this game in the state that it's in, it's unfortunate. cons: - gacha style microtransactions - menu that would work better on flat - combat could be so much better, it's not like this game is on a larger scale that 4 players in a party. - nobody plays this after it's 90 player concurrent peak on release, i was on not even a week after, nobody there. 11 players total online. - storyline was unfortunately uninteresting - animations could use a lot of work - more button pressing than physical VR interaction pros: - the art direction is awesome - world building is great dont get this game until they've improved it heavily.
