Scout cars need to move stop & move again in there rang of hexs in there turn.
This game sucks I'm glad I only paid 12.00 for it. Game shuts down sends message jdk binery error
I had such high hopes for an upgrade on my favorite war game PG II that I jumped to buy it- even at the relatively high cost, but couldn't even play the first turn. It is extremely complex to understand, and much to my disappointment, did not give the non-core units their historical designations. It mentions a manual but I couldn't find it. I feel like Steam sold me a "bill of goods"!
Very poorly optimized, AI takes an awful lot of time before the game moves to player's turn, screen is barely readable and the menus are too small. Unplayable on a large screen.
This game ist good and has potential, but all these bugs destroy any fun. This is an early beta, in the best case. Some examples. You took a town, but it dont count as taken = you cant win, since you dont took the town....argh! Crashes all the time, it just shut off randomly Core units dissapear Units for "speed up" dissapear - in the first 2 games I had Panther and Tiger, 3rd game this units are gone Commander dies, but you keep the commander (skill), commander stay, but skills are gone Speed up units... you have to click back and forth to get to the right unit... endless Not to mention the terrible sound/Options seetings Not a bug, but annoying like hell: You dont see important unit-info. As the Skills... You have to always select unit, look into it, to know what skills this unit got. You also cant rename units, so no way you can identify a certain unit. Some insane fun, to click throug all the units to find the one you seached for... Green units without any border infront of green backround. Its hard to identify the different units, sometimes you just cant see it. Try an artillery in a town... minefields, the mecanics are annoying, you need to place your Pionier in the right slot, to move it into an empty or enemy field. If there is an own unit, you cant destroy the minefield, you have to move your own unit away first. lots of money for an early beta... Its there first game, but there are tons of basics which you could easy sort out in a proper betatest. Problems found: It seems that the Speed-UP function doest work linear. It get blown up by certain cenarios. As example. If you decide to go for Spain "Felix Scenario" it kicks out your Speed-UP units you got before. This means, that I already got the 190a before Felix (5 Units), but once Felix starts I cant buy this unit (and other units as well) anymore. The Buy lay in the Scenario preload/Settings, which cleary dont load the previous state of Unit-Set. Another Bug are the skills. I can say for sure, that the "charge" skill ist completely bugged. It worked once for me, after that all by Charge units cant charge anymore. I tryed it up till lvl3, not working anymore! And yes, I tried in 3 more Scenarios after. As description says, it should work 1-3 times per Scenario. Same goes for many other skills. I think intercept doent work like intented! If the first intercept is 90% and I got the skill intercept, than the first intercept should be 100%! Same goes for the range. I tried it about 20 times and I never saw a intercept over 2 Hex. Since I got all the neededd skill, this should be a 100% intercept over 2 Hex. I got intercepts over 1 Hex randomly, but nothing you can count on. All the other skills. I red the manual, i tried a lot with unit positioning, since you cant realy read anything out of the unit-stats, its completly unclear, if the skills work as intented. All I know, that once you got a lvl 15-20 Unit the unit get insane expensive. The lvl-Cost-ratio is somthing you have to look into it. I simply dont lvl up certain units anymore, since I dont really get any benefit from it.
Jó lenne a játék, ha a megjelenés után egy évvel nem volnának még mindig bug-ok. Ráadásul a kampány vége felé, amikor már bele raktam egy csomó időt.
Nefungující sračka...
Normally, turn-based strategy war games are my favourite to play and a must-have for me. However, 'Klotzen! Panzer Battles' is not one them. IMHO it is quite poorly developed, has mediocre graphics at best, an unmanagable unit screen and lacking command system... and the list of flaws continues. I orginally only got this game because a cheaper price was offered (- 40% discount) due to some special sales event @ Steam. Still this is way to expensive - I wouldn't even play it if I got it for free. Wasted almost 3 hours with this to get into, but enough is enough. Sorry developers, this simply isn't good enough to be bothered with. Thus I made a refund claim @ Steam/Valve just now so I hope I can get my money back at least, we shall see. Avoid this game at all costs, get the amazing 'Panzer Corps 2' instead(where everythign runs smoothly).EDIT: in the meantime Steam refunded my purchase so at least I got one positve thing out of this underwhelming experience.
Caveat first: This game doesn't work on proton/steam deck due to using LWJGL2. I don't blame the devs for this, it just seems to be an unfortunate combintion of how they made the game, steam's linux runtime and the passage of time.
Good
Content/Price : Klotzen has a huge amount of historical German campaign content as well as several alt hist scenarios, including rare ones such as assaulting Gibraltar, with no DLC at all. It's more than worth the default price for that alone. AI/Scenario balance : Unlike certain other games in the Panzer General clone genre, the AI is clever enough in putting its units to good use and punishing the player's mistakes that it doesn't need an ahistorically large amount of advanced units to roadblock the player. It's competent and well equipped, but doesn't waste your time or encourage save scumming. Modding : Nothing too unusual for the genre, but Klotzen has a very powerful scenario editor and game files and saves are all in plain text, making modding and emergency balance adjustments very simple. Leadership : More of a personal preference, but I like that every unit has a unique leader that can be developed into your own preferred kind of hero. Heroes in other Panzer General clones are often a mix of overpowered and excessively scarce, so it's nice to see a universal system of impactful but well balanced leaders instead.
Not Good
UX : The game's UI is fairly complex, and bluntly, didn't pick on up the good streamlining that the rest of the genre did. It's functional at best. Learning curve : Read the manual, then read it again and experiment in a few scenarios. A lot of gameplay mechanics are either explained poorly or not at all in the game tutorials.
