Join us in an early version of Kindred Fates and explore Amberwood, a bite-size area of Hinterlock, teeming with Kinfolk to befriend and bond with. Complete puzzles found in the world. Build the perfect team, customize their abilities, and control your Kinfolk in real-time combat. Hone your skills to fight other players in several combat arenas. Form lasting bonds with your team members to unlock their full potential.
But never forget that death looms around every corner. Consider your actions carefully, or you could lose your companions forever…
Action Combat & PvP
Battles are fast-paced and happen in real-time. You'll need good aim, quick reactions, and an awareness of your environment if you want to survive. Try and defeat all the bandits in Amberwood or try your luck against other players in online P2P matchmaking.
YOUR COMPANIONS
Bond with a variety of Kinfolk to build out your team, and give them a nickname of your choosing. Cook their favorite foods and train hard to survive the dangers of Amberwood. Increase their level, experiment with team builds, and unlock their full potential through EV training.
YOUR BONDS
If your Kinfolk fall in combat, they don’t faint– they actually die.
When they die, their soul materializes as a small blue flame. Collect it in time, and you can revive them. If not, they're gone forever. Visit the Memorial to pay respects to the friends you've lost.
HORDE MODE
Try your luck in a new singleplayer mode! Fight against ever-increasing hordes of Restless Kinfolk. Refine your team to survive the hordes, and explore the compound to collect new abilities and items that will help you survive. The rewards for surviving are great, but how long will you last?
YOUR CHARACTER

A literal scam that stole money from many Kickstarter backers
Hello. I have followed this game since the Kickstarter, and have 100+ hours playing the Alpha as well as talking to the development team, Skymill Studios, almost daily. Here's my review: 1) COMMUNICATION: The team is in constant communication with the community through Discord. They also release detailed bi-weekly newsletters. I always look forward to reading them. Rob, the game's creator, is often talking to us about his methodology and ideas for the game, while also listening to our feedback. If this game looks interesting to you and you have some questions for the team, you can ask them yourself at this very moment. 2) RECEPTIVE TO FEEDBACK: They are highly receptive to constructive criticism, as changes can be reverted and good ideas can see themselves making it into the game. I speak from experience as I created a video regarding basic attacks and movement, and within days the change was made to the game. Everything in my review is based on first-hand experience. Skymill is looking to make the best game that they can, and they're aware the community can be a big help for that. 3) PROGRESS: They are making huge strides in creating this highly ambitious game from the ground up. They share their developmental journey with us through newsletters, while sharing specifics when they can. A huge draw about this game is creating the monster taming game we all wish we could play. We played Pokemon as kids, but for many of us we feel it didn't grow up with us. They plan to solve that with this open world action combat rpg with over 150 Kinfolk. It's important to strike a balance between revealing enough to keep us engaged, but not enough to take the surprise/magic out of the first play-through. Take a look at their youtube channel and look at the old videos versus the new ones. The Single-Player preview released yesterday was absolutely incredible. The progress is clear as day. Single-Player Preview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CPW40t49pJ8 4) AUTHENTIC: The Skymill Studios team is genuine, kind, and dedicated. They are pouring their hearts into this gem of a game, and they've cultivated a positive and friendly community that I'm grateful to be a part of. I highly recommend joining the Discord and seeing for yourself. 5) COMBAT: Duh, the combat. Kindred Fates will be primarily a Single-Player game (with online pvp), but they have created the Alpha Combat Arena to test out basic combat mechanics. This helps them make the single player game better. Combat is fast paced, fun, and rewarding. Practice quickly produces results, and it's so satisfying pulling off cool combos and defeating your rival. The fact that this game is still in Alpha is baffling to me, because it already feels SO GOOD to play. Check out youtube for recent videos. Monster Tamer Bloba and Ynku upload videos quite often. And that's it. I highly recommend joining the Discord and getting involved with this project. There are high expectations for the final product, and based off what I've seen, I fully believe the team will pull it off. Thanks for reading.
I'm waiting for full controller support to really dive in, but I love the framework they have in place so far. The plans they already have in place look extremely promising, and the team behind it are hella dedicated, so I have high hopes.
It reminded me of Pokémon Generations.
Pedi reembolso.
cool
worth the wait
How do I say this... This game massively, and I mean MASSIVELY, hyped me back when the kickstarter was announced. I even pledged some extra money for the beta access and plushie. Now that I could finally get my hands on the game, all I can say is that I am incredibly disappointed. You'll probably say "but it's a beta demo!", to which I'll reply to you yes, but this is supposed to represent at least 6 *years* of development. When I finally could play, I couldn't shake off the feeling of the game feeling very amateurish, like a solo dev doing a small project in their free time. The general feel of the game felt incredibly hollow. For example, you have almost 0 ambiance when exploring the world. No footsteps, no wind, no nothing. Simply a permanently looping soundtrack. It really sapped my immersion. Fighting with some creatures felt really messy, and sometimes really lacked impact, which didn't make it very fun. That being said, Kodoki felt pretty solid though. I really fear this game being a total flop when if finally does release. It has been delayed too much, and pretty much all hype about this game is now gone. It's going to get completely overshadowed by other creature collector games that have been pretty successful. Kindred Fates was pretty novel back when it was announced. Nowadays very much less so. I still really hope that all my fears have been for nothing, and that the final product is really a blast to play, but I won't get my hopes up. We'll see when we get there.
Keep it coming!
