Join us in an early version of Kindred Fates and explore Amberwood, a bite-size area of Hinterlock, teeming with Kinfolk to befriend and bond with. Complete puzzles found in the world. Build the perfect team, customize their abilities, and control your Kinfolk in real-time combat. Hone your skills to fight other players in several combat arenas. Form lasting bonds with your team members to unlock their full potential.
But never forget that death looms around every corner. Consider your actions carefully, or you could lose your companions forever…
Action Combat & PvP
Battles are fast-paced and happen in real-time. You'll need good aim, quick reactions, and an awareness of your environment if you want to survive. Try and defeat all the bandits in Amberwood or try your luck against other players in online P2P matchmaking.
YOUR COMPANIONS
Bond with a variety of Kinfolk to build out your team, and give them a nickname of your choosing. Cook their favorite foods and train hard to survive the dangers of Amberwood. Increase their level, experiment with team builds, and unlock their full potential through EV training.
YOUR BONDS
If your Kinfolk fall in combat, they don’t faint– they actually die.
When they die, their soul materializes as a small blue flame. Collect it in time, and you can revive them. If not, they're gone forever. Visit the Memorial to pay respects to the friends you've lost.
HORDE MODE
Try your luck in a new singleplayer mode! Fight against ever-increasing hordes of Restless Kinfolk. Refine your team to survive the hordes, and explore the compound to collect new abilities and items that will help you survive. The rewards for surviving are great, but how long will you last?
YOUR CHARACTER
Create your character. With a variety of facial features, hair colors, scars, and facial markings, the choice is yours.

精灵平衡性还要继续调整, 建议增加精灵养成玩法,孵蛋啊,打怪升级什么的, 现在版本纯战斗,用户黏性会很差。 Sprite balance still needs to be adjusted, Suggest to increase the spirit to develop the play, hatching eggs ah, beat the monster upgrade what, Now version pure combat, user stickiness will be very poor
Don't tell my girlfriend but I think I'm in love. This game sings wonders to my heart and interacting with the community and the dev team makes every day that much better.
2026 Update: The development has hit some roadblocks and bumps, but the team has never failed to give regular, timely, updates and are still working hard. I don't see this game coming out for a while, but the project has not been abandoned. 2024 Update: In 2024 the following review maintains. The team has still been actively giving updates and working hard. ------ To address some of the negative comments, this team has given pretty regular updates and progress reports, and have been pretty transparent with how long things are taking. This is definitely not another scam and run off with your money kickstarter game. its a big project with a small team and the people complaining were expecting something AAA quality after 6 months of work. If this game interests you, follow the news surrounding it and keep your eyes peeled. inform yourself, don't take my word or anyone else's in these reviews. This game is a Combat Arena Alpha- not the full game and not even a beta. expecting much from this would be silly. its cool that the devs are even allowing something like this to be accessed publicly.
Progress has definitely been slow but I am definitely enjoying what they've put out, especially in the new update!
This game is in Alpha, but it's super fun and i can't wait till the full game releases!!
You can clearly see the improvements from when the alpha first launched, it's still not nearly finished, and only 1v1 Multiplayer is possible at the moment and no single-player content yet, but if you are very interested, especially in the gameplay, it might be worth considering buying the alpha now to support the developers. This game has some of the most community-involved devs I've ever seen for any game, and if you give them feedback they are very likely to consider it. The real-time gameplay is definetely a fresh take on the genre, there's already a lot of possible strategies just with the limited roster available in the alpha. It's definetely more challenging than most other games in the monster-catching genre, but the full release version will also have a turn-based combat option for people who prefer that. If you're still unsure, just keep an eye out for this game. If you think the price is too high remember, it will only go down in the future. Edit: I should also note that the alpha version comes with several early-supporter benefits similar to the kickstarter, like the official soundtrack on release, access to the beta and full release versions, in-game goodies like titles and items and so on.
From Alpha to Beta, the game has come a really long way. I can notice and appreciate the updates to the game both big and small. This rejuvenated my hype for the game's eventual completion and release. Are there bugs? Probably. Are the developers, game designers, and artists working as best they can on a product? I firmly believe they are. I'm looking forward to periodically playing this Beta Combat Arena, get the developers more end-user data and diagnostics, all in the hope that it facilitates an easier job on their end to provide their supporters a "good enough for a Day 1 release" product. I'm looking forward to this game to even reach Early Access stage, similar to other developers' games here on Steam, so that I can continue to enjoy the journey this game is taking. Cheers to you, everyone at Skymill Studios! Thank you for all your hard work to get your game to this point so far.
Met these folks at GalaxyCon last year and saw a future version of the game that looked and felt amazing. Just waiting on everything to finally come together and actually include real controller functionality before truly judging what's currently available. Devs are really nice folks in person though haha irrelevant but trust that these devs are doing something awesome here! Final vision is worth supporting if not general concept alone, really enjoyable stuff :D
This game has so much potential Fcous on in being fun and balanced and this could be big
Janky, buggy mess. And according to other reviews- I am not alone in that judgement
