Kells is a retro puzzle game inspired by games of the 90s such as the original Lemmings, but with a gravity-defying mechanic at its core that provides a unique twist on the genre.

Admittedly at first I didn't give this game more than 20 mins before getting distracted, in my defence I'm not really a puzzle game fan and I'd treated myself a spending spree on Steam. After coming back to it though I really got into Kells, the gravity mechanics give it a nice twist and some of the puzzles are really demanding if you are seeking a perfect score. I found it a little frustrating at first as I didn't really understand the game fully but I see the developer released a guide which should help people along. For the price I was expecting about an hour or two of gameplay but at 10 hours I still haven't got more than 3 of the achievements unlocked and if not for ER I'd have spent more time on this. What is pleasantly surprising is that, despite the paltry number of achievements unlocked, I don't feel that the game is too hard. I just keep f*****g it up. If you like a puzzler, retro styling or even a real challenge this is a game for you and even if you don't you could do a lot worse than this game.
Love that each Kell has a unique personality and the RIP pages. The game play is fun and very intuitive. I made it all the way to Level 12 before getting stuck :) #NotAGamer

This game is awesome! Each level is unique and I was constantly finding new ways to avoid enemies/threats and finding new routes to reach the end of the level. The amount of depth to the levels with the secrets and collectables is incredible and was definitely unexpected going into the game. The perma-death aspects of Kells allow for a challenging and addictive experience, I was constantly eager to go back and perfect each level without losing a single Kell. As well as this, I found it extremely enjoyable to learn and experiment with the different game mechanics such as the gravity manipulation and physics. I 100% recommend this game to anyone who enjoys a challenging puzzle game.
