I like what I played KarmaZoo, but it has one problem that causes me a thumbs down. It's coop only. Unless you have up to 9 friends that want to play... this is a glorified, digital paperweight. The game itself is pretty cool, kind of a roguelike platformer with lots of stuff to unlock over time. So, the core experience is to log into a room with random players, work together to navigate through 5 random stages together, collecting fruit to offer better "Bonus Choices" for the next stage, until you win or die as a team. The rewards used their unlock new bodies and powers to be used on future runs. There's some fun aspects to the core game, the life system being quite special. When players are seperated, their life bubbles slowly shrinks and it refills immediately when you come close together. So I'll run to hit a switch, and then quickly gather up before we die. This leads to some really cool moments where you'll be on opposites sides of a wall, solving your puzzles while repeatedly linking up the life bubbles through the wall. Honestly? That experience was 10/10 interesting for me. The puzzles are a combination of hitting switches, jumping platforms, healing one another to climb or cross bits, carrying electrical charges to lights, dodging lasers etc. There may be more... but as I said... as coop only that's all I'm ever going to see. I really enjoyed what I played, but it might get old unless there is more systems I haven't seen. So, I really do like this game but the coop only requirement mean it's only recommended if you have 1 or more friends that all want to join in. Otherwise, there's sadly no reason to buy it.
the best CO-OP game i have ever had the honor to play. RIP Karma Zoo
Sadly not recommended anymore. The game's core function was to embark on online adventures with different people to reach a common goal, however, the number of active players is approaching 0 and the game is just not made for singleplayer or couch coop. (couch coop is a different game mode, not the main "adventure" mode)
Да... жаль, конечно, этого добряка
KarmaZoo is a masterpiece. It was so awesome to be a part of this community while it was still active. But as the game’s online player base dropped a while ago, I would not recommend buying this game if you are playing alone. It is highly advisable to play with at least 6 people to have lots of fun with this game. If you can gather a party of 10, you will understand what it was alike. In the past, you only had to wait 5–10 minutes in the lobby to find 10 players. Even if the developers were only able to keep the community active for a short period of time, that time still fills my heart with deep gratitude. You created some good karma!
