There is a moment in every fighting game where you stop pressing buttons and start playing. The screen narrows. The neutral becomes a conversation. You read a jump, you punish it, and for a split second you understand something about your opponent they didn't even know about themselves. Karkaba gave me that moment on a rooftop in Beirut. This isn't a costume. It isn't tokenism. Karkaba is what happens when people who actually grew up here build a fighting game on their own terms, in their own language, and refuse to translate themselves down for anyone. The roster is ten people who feel like they walked in off the street. Gazanfer Pasha, Hashem Falafel, Rita Baydoon, Koshari Al Zaeem. Names you'd hear at a family gathering, a barbershop in Amman, a café in Cairo. None of them are caricatures. Pick one and you don't just learn a moveset, you learn a person. And the stages. A petrol station in Baghdad at night. A Beirut rooftop where the satellite dishes lean and the laundry lines tangle in the wind. Petra, carved out of the rock like the planet itself was holding its breath. An Egyptian tomb older than the entire genre we're playing in. A wedding venue with the lights spinning. Every one of these has been a backdrop in someone else's game. Karkaba puts them at the center. To the people who made this: you did it. You actually did it. You made the game a kid in Amman or Doha or Casablanca can boot up and see themselves on the character select screen — not as an afterthought, but as the main event. Whatever the charts say, this one is in the history books. Buy it. Bring a friend. Lose to them in front of Petra. Hashem Falafel is waiting. And honestly, so were we.
i saw this game roughly 2 weeks ago on my reels, and it was some guy on a disco floor beating up the other dude, i was at work and it was roughly 6 in the morning. watching that video, i was laughing so hard it was so funny i became fixated with this game, i watched. every. single. video, reviewed gameplay added a countdown to my instagram story. that video changed my life it was so funny, a day before the release i was telling everybody how excited i was for this game, and when i saw it it was 30$ be being a broke person i couldnt afford it then my chud friend clutched up and gifted me the game. it was the best moment of my life. there is no greater fan of Karkaba than me i love Karkaba so much, if you say u are a bigger fan than me you are lying the first thing i did was do that disco move and it did bring me so much joy. Karkaba i lvoe you notice me
I have been watching the dev spawn disco balls like it's nothing on his middle eastern relatives and he has now blessed me with free access to the very game that's gonna kill both the Tekken and Street Fighter franchise. They got nothing on Karkaba.
Step aside Japan the ARAB WORLD is here to replace you in the fighting game space 100/10 masterpiece of a fighting game can't wait to see it at evo next year
It can become something very good. The characters have differentiating and unique designs, the levels are beautiful in variety, and honestly I was not expecting this pretty of an UI. The character selection UI is eye candy for me lol. I haven't played much but there are definitely some improvements I'd like to see: - Full Combo List in the Menu: The menu has a controls section, but it only outlines the basic keys such as light and heavy attacks, grabs, ultimate, and etc, but when you play the game there are many more moves and abilities that you wouldn't know exist unless you button smashed or tried out every key combination. This would be my 1st priority, as I never know which moves lead to another or chain properly - Tutorial/Guide: I'm sure anyone who is buying or playing this game is aware of how fighting games usually work, but thats not the case for me. Some moves you can not do and I never know when you're able to, I'd assume its from the power bar at the bottom of the screen but it doesn't ever move so I don't know. A guide showing what each of the interface means and/or how to gain powers would be appreciated. - CPU Difficulty: As of right now, there is no way to change the difficulty of the CPU, and right now I'd say its pretty weak. I'm a noob when it comes to fighting games, but even I was able to beat the CPU routinely through button mashing. The CPU will do a chain or moves, and then just basically let you have "your" turn, it won't react. Definitely need this. Overall, like I said, I believe it can become something good as long as the dev is willing listen, and I believe he put himself already in good standing. The game used to be originally $30 USD, but he listened to his players and has brought it down to $20 USD ($19.99 USD). Good luck to this game and I hope it pops off. [EDIT] As of June 9th, 2026, the developer on June 7th listened to feedback and added a full tutorial/training mode, as well as a full control/combo list. These are 2 things the game desperately needed. Well done! Arabic Translation (Sorry if its bad, I used a translator and I'm not a native speaker)
It's not a good videogame.
This is geniuenly one of the best games ive played in my life after 20 minutes of playing this game I have uninstalled every other fighting game because how good this game is. This is a 10/10 masterpiece and i highly reccomend giving this to people when they least expect it.
i saw this game on youtube then I played Karkaba for 40 minutes, and honestly, that was more than enough. I wanted to support it because an Arab fighting game sounds exciting and unique, but the execution is terrible. The combat feels stiff, weak, and unfinished. Hits have no impact, movement feels awkward, and nothing about the gameplay made me want to continue. Being an Arab game is not enough to make it good. Representation matters, but the game still needs solid mechanics. Right now, Karkaba feels like a good idea buried under bad gameplay. I cannot recommend it, especially not as a paid game. i wish i could give it less than a 1/10
Better than Tekken 8 Rita Baydoon <3
