I’ve played Just Cause 4 for 32 hours and I still can’t stop playing it. The gameplay is pure chaos in the best way possible explosions, wingsuit flying, grappling around, destroying bases, and just having fun without thinking too much. It may not be perfect, but if you enjoy open-world action and crazy destruction, this game is very addictive. Definitely worth playing if you just want to relax and cause some chaos after work.

This a review of a game that is part of a beloved series. Please do consider reading. JC4 is a game that tries to capture elements from the series and while its stunning locations and content feel fresh and awesome it lacks in many areas. It tries to make you think of creative ways to play and complete objectives but it has ways to make you bored as well. !Please note this, i like this game a lot and i do recommend buying it (the complete edition on sale preferably) but is does have A LOT OF FAULTS! !Also note this is my personal opinion having played the game 100% 3 times over ,since its release, on multiple platforms. A simple PROS and CONS list with clarifications along the way. Lets begin! BASE GAME PROS. -INSANELY huge map. Loads of locations and biomes. Beautiful and vibrant. -Graphics wise its not God of War but its a nice beautiful game.(Do turn off some settings because they make the game feel sluggish.) -Wide variety of vehicles suiting every need along the way. -Fun new ways to play with the grappling hook. These give you many choices and make you think like a proper sandbox should. -I do like the music and ambience. It is relaxing when exploring and gives you an action vibe when in combat. -Many, i mean MANY tiny challenges to unlock stuff not like JC3 with the stupid 5 gear challenges. I found out i didn't get bored completing these. -Drop menu with many items apart from vehicles and weapons and many pilots to drop them. Not beacons. Also they are used to fast travel so you might not even run out late in the game. -Accurate gun gameplay with side features to play with. I found that shooting did not require me to have super aim like other action games. -WEATHER STUFF!! I believe they are a catchy idea that changes the way you play or cause chaos. DLC PROS. ----LOS DEMONIOS -Demons! -Infestations! -OP Crossbow! -Javi! -Awesome new island! ----AGENCY DLC -SUBMARINES!!! -New Guns and vehicles. -The Hoverboard. A new way to traverse and it is loads of fun. -JC3 DESTRUCTION WITH CHAOS OBJECTS!!!!!(FINALLY) -Interesting side plot with the Agency and Sheldon. ----The stunt Car/Race/Underground DLC -A new island to play on. -New cars. NOW FOR THE CONS. ---BASE GAME CONS. -Weird and boring story. Espinosa is far inferior to Di Ravello. The other characters are Meh! at best. Rico had motivation in JC3 to destroy everything for Medici ,Mario and the rebellion. Now he just goes left or right following instructions from others and not truly commiting to avenging his parents. Don't know half baked and boring. -Rico's Voice and script. ITS A DOWNGRADE. From an Italian accent to a Spanish accent? Supposedly the game takes part right after Medici. So Rico changed ethnicity? And had plastic surgery to alter his face? It is weird and annoying sometimes. He sounds like he is not understanding anything. And he feels soulless. Huge drawback. -Vehicle physics are almost wrong to even exist. Cars flying with the smallest bump. Helicopters either are stuck solid in midair or they are flying left or right. Without a controller you can't fly a plane. Bikes are the WORST. AVOID THEM IF YOU CAN. And so many challenges involve the same 4 vehicles. its annoying AF. -I did not like the squad expansion system. it is weird and i am not playing RISK. Such a bad choice. -The game is not optimized as it should be. Do not get me wrong. All JC games are a crashfest but this one crashes weirdly and unpredictably. -The base operation missions are an absolute boring nightmare. Basically escort and defend missions or download data from a console missions. WHY DID THEY THINK removing the DESTRUCTION would be a better choice is beyond me. It is the most annoying aspect and makes progression feel like you want to end as quickly as possible. -Enemy AI and pathfinding is annoying and overwhelming. JC4 Is a sandbox and should be an easy game to vent off and relax destroying stuff. If i wanted to shoot 100 constantly spawning enemies that swarm me and don't die like flies i would be playing something else. -Weapons feel like they have fewer ammo and are useless. Some of them aren't even worth using. -Allied NPC AI and pathfinding is also weird and half baked. They aren't helpful in missions and sometimes they stall you. -Although the map is indeed huge and beautiful, some areas feel empty and rushed to launch. DLC CONS. ---LOS DEMONIOS -Repetitive Infestations with annoying enemies ,that sometimes kill you instantly ,were you do the same thing over and over again. -Weird storyline that you will not remember after you complete it. -Ammo for the demon crossbow is found from the demons. But if you kill them with the crossbow they get impaled to another universe so you run low quite quickly. -WHY DO I NEED TO OPEN DEMONIC PLANTS WITH THE GRAPPLE WHILE A SWARM OF DEMONS SHOOTS PROJECTILES AT ME? HUH? ---AGENCY DLC -Not many cons really. I just wish they didn't make you throw crates in the ocean(someone thought: Hey lets make them stop shooting and destroying stuff and make them grapple crates on the ground so they can slide in the water. Ohhh! lets make me do this 17 or 20 times during a single sub overtake. That will be fun gameplay.) -If there were not 6 subs but 6 different agency vehicles/structures like a flying fortress/plane or a ship or huge vehicle , it would be an absolute joy. -I wish it had more lines and backstory for Rico and the agency. ---Stunt DLC -BORING. THAT'S IT To conclude. Its a nice game and its worth the money on sale. I could name many more pros and cons but i am writing this to address what i have been feeling during my playtime. JC3 and JC4 are totally different but they stick to the ethos of the franchise. I do hope JC5 ,if it ever comes out ,might be a combination of both games that made them the little gems they are. THANKS FOR READING!
好玩
