Pros- -Very funny writing -Snappy gameplay loop (no grinding whatsoever) -Parry timings are satisfying to hit -Some very cool units, with one in particular being extremely unique -Great soundtrack Cons- -Maps get pretty easy once you can deploy a full squad of 8. I played on standard not knowing what to expect, and now that I've finished I wholeheartedly recommend hard mode instead. -The enemy attack radius is very hard to see on dark floors -Your character often doesn't start within talking distance of the Stage select NPCs after completing a level Overall, I enjoyed it. Blasted through the whole game in a couple days, and have saved a few tracks from the OST.
Really good tactical turn base rpg. No need to grind, just pure skill required. I recommend it to anybody looking for a fun new game to play

Juno 06 is a funny VN and good turn-based tactics game like Magellania, the first VN and game made by their dev. (I played Magellania on my old Steam account.) Its gameplay has some improvement over Magellania, especially after the grid-based movement update. The VN part of the game is also just as funny with enjoyable characters as the previous game.
Updated after sinking some more time into the game. Easy to jump into battles, nice art and music! Could use a restart battle option in pause menu and a couple improvements like that. Overall It's an pretty good Strategy/Tactical Rpg! Easy reccomend for anyone looking for more of this game genre. Consider me an fan so far of what this developer is cooking up!
Really fun game if you give it a chance. music is also top tier!
you click on enemies and make their health go down
Space Fire Emblem with dolphin magic. I think the game is missing big tiddy. This is a plea for big tiddie.
cute and fun
tl;dr: 7/10
Overall, it's very similar to Magellania, which I covered in a previous review of mine, and would probably recommend over Juno 06. Due to the two games having almost identical presentation and gameplay, I won't be repeating what the previous review covered, and will be mostly focusing on what's new or changed. But all in all, there's some improvements, and some parts that don't work as well as Magellania did, resulting in something that's altogether a bit below Magellania in terms of creativity and enjoyment.
Graphics: 7/10
On par with Magellania. The backgrounds, sprite design, and UI are a bit more polished, but not really to the point of being a cut above Magellania, and overall, I find the visual design less vibrant and memorable than Magellania's. But maybe I'm just not a big sci-fi guy.
Sound Design: 7.5/10
Good quality music, and I was pleasantly surprised to see that even though there's obviously reuses, the game introduces new soundtracks even in the later stages. However, the tracks feel overall less memorable, and there's less of them that I found myself vibing with compared to Magellania. As for sound effects, they're the same as Magellania's, so not much to say here.
Gameplay/Game Design: 7.5/10
Despite Juno 06 using exactly the same units, Badges, and mechanics (with some additions), compared to Magellania, there's some nice improvements and tweaks: units got rebalanced across the board, there's now a level-up system that adds a new dimension to battles, and Badges and units are both limited, making the gameplay overall tighter and more challenging. However, with that extra challenge, the game is more unforgiving, which can make it very frustrating when a battle goes catastrophically wrong because of a single miscalculation. So I'd say the game is really for players who like to be meticulous with their unit placement and actions, otherwise, I can see the game being easy to drop, which explains the low Achievement rates for the later parts of the game and postgame. Some mechanics can also behave oddly, like some Badges triggering in certain circumstances and others not, but I'd say those are quirks you get used to rather than outright game-breaking issues. The game could probably do with some fixes there, but hey, game design is hard and tiring. Overall, a more polished experience than Magellania, though nothing mind-blowing, and battles do get repetitive.
Writing: 5.5/10
Definitely didn't feel the same spark as Magellania. The humor and quirkiness are still here, but I found the premise more nebulous, the characters weaker, and the plot more meandering. There's little cohesiveness, with characters going from one plot beat to the next kinda however they feel like, and mysteries and goals that offer little payoff due to how casually they get addressed. Characters feel underexplored, and narrative scenes feel like little more than skits to offer some set dressing in-between battles. It's a shame, but nothing egregious either. Just not a lot to get invested in.
Conclusion: 7/10
Aside from the slight graphical upgrade and gameplay improvements, Juno 06 doesn't feel like much of a step-up from Magellania, which I'd recommend over it. I'd say only play Juno 06 if you enjoyed Magellania a lot and want more of it, or if you're a huge TRPG & sci-fi buff that doesn't mind a story that doesn't deliver much. I'd be tempted to give it 6.5 instead of 7, but that feels like it would be just a bit too harsh, especially for a game that's more or less a solo project.
