É bem relaxante e vale a pena
Unexpectedly good! Honestly, I have no idea how I came across this game. It feels more like the game found me by itself and my love for foxes just didn't let me to pass by. I'm soooo glad that I decided to give it a shot. The game reminded me of a PS1-era games with very simple platforming-exploring-style gameplay. I truly enjoyed that little indie-project. It's relaxing gameplay grabbed my attention, and the very peaceful, very calm, very kind, and friendly atmosphere just didn't let me stop smiling during the walkthrough. Story is as simple as gameplay: a mad scientist was making crazy experiments on animals, combining them into one. Only FOX survived and had SO MUCH LOVE, that his love started curing animals, making them normal again. "Save all the animals and defeat the evil genius!" I didn't even notice how I completed everything and got 100% of my achievements. Flaws? I didn't really notice it. Perhaps the game heated my 4090 way too much, but it's not critical. For its price, the game OVERDELIVERS. Thank you, Planet 47 Games. That was lovely. 9/10
A charming little family-friendly collect-a-thon. Nothing too complicated or deep, good for switching your brain off and wandering around looking for things. Very easy, low-stakes, and non-violent. I'd recommend it for children. It does lack a bit of polish. There's a mechanic for grappling, but almost no chance to use it. Some areas are quite empty. But I've had fun with it so far, I enjoyed the silly designs, and I'd say there's enough to it to make it worth a purchase if you're looking for something cute and simple to lose yourself in for a handful of hours.
Hey there, fellow gamers and parents! If you’re looking for a game that’s perfect for your little ones, let me tell you about “Spider Fox” on Steam. It’s a super fun adventure where you swing around as a Spider Fox. Yep, you heard that right – it’s a fox that’s also kinda like Spider-Man. The game’s all about saving these wacky animal combos that a Mad Scientist cooked up. But here’s the cool part: you don’t fight them; you save them! It’s all about helping out and having a blast while doing it. Plus, you get to collect treasures and other goodies along the way. Kids are gonna love the bright colors and the silly characters. And guess what? It’s got a big thumbs up from players on Steam, scoring a perfect 100/100! That’s like, all the gold stars. So, if you’re in the mood for some giggles and good times with the kiddos, “Spider Fox” is the way to go. It’s easy to pick up, even for the littlest gamers. So why not give it a whirl? Happy gaming, everyone
So Spider Fox. I bought this just because it looked so goofy and it was on sale for two bucks. I was expecting something along the lines of intentionally terrible or just plain incompetent. Turns out I was completely wrong. It's actually a relaxing collectathon platformer that lets you just kinda go. It's not difficult but it doesn't completely lack challenge. It has completely open levels but it doesn't lack direction. There are alternative traversal options at your disposal if you want to use them. There is actual thought and planning going on in this goofy as hell game about a mad scientist combining animals together and the power of love being the only thing that can save the day. Every part of this shouldn't work but somehow it actually does. The fact that it actually comes across as earnest really ties it together. It's obvious how silly this is. It's the idea of a child who has played way too much of the ancient RTS Impossible Creatures. Grotesque animal combinations seems to really be a universal favorite of young kids but who can blame them? It's just an inherently fun thing. We know how Animal A works, so what happens when we force it with Animal B? Hell, Ray Comfort tried to prove the existence of God with a crockaduck, so even adults can get in on this action. Controlling the titular Spider Fox is a ton of fun. Seeing those eight legs wiggle while walking with that disgusting fox head on top is delightful. Having that same body shoot web out of somewhere, the game luckily never tells us where it is released) and swing around levels is even more delightful. His Mario-esque yelps and cries when he jumps is just the icing on the cake. I found it just so charming to move around in the world. The web-swinging takes some practice, along with buying some upgrades, to get it down but it feels good to bounce around obelisks and trees! It's less Spider-Man and more ninja rope from Worms, if that makes sense. Spider Fox can also attack with a web shot and even a charge shot that is required to defeat some enemies. You have a limited amount of web to use at any particular time though. Each level is littered with fruits to pick up, which add to your web stock, and then there are treasure chests that can contain some more web. There are also gems littered around the level, which is what you use to upgrade your stats. Your goal is to track down all of the combined animals in each level and shoot them with enough web to break them apart. You don't start with a minimap that tells you where the animals are at but if you can find the three gold coins hidden in each world, you can use them to buy a minimap that will display the locations of the hybrids. Spider Fox has unlimited health and can't ever die or lose. However, the enemies in the levels will knock webs off your counter, making your vulnerable to more attacks and if you get too low, you can't separate the animals, so you gotta shoot around to restock. The robotic enemies can only be destroyed with a superweb charge shot, but those cost 50 webs to use, so sometimes it becomes a fight or flight thing. And really, that's about all there is to this game. A handful of levels, each with their own map and biomes, two boss fights, and a training area. The levels are mostly wide open squares with occasional platformer tricks here and there. Really, it just lets you walk around the world, picking up things, opening treasure boxes, and shooting animals. Like there's a structure to the overall game but when you start a level, you can tackle it from any direction you want. It's a treasure hunt, I suppose. You know what's in each world and you're gonna find them all, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥! Like I said, Spider Fox can never die, he is eternal, but it does become a little frantic when you've run out of webs from taking damage and you're trying to outrun the rat in the electric sphere before he crushes you and removes the web you just picked up. All of this makes it very playable though. It's far from a demanding game but you do have to pay just enough attention to your surroundings to find hidden spots and to avoid enemies, so you can just get into a kind of zen state while you're hunting down the last of the animals you need. I don't mean to oversell this game. It's very janky and the lack of polish is evident from the get go. There is no hiding its lack of budget. The menus look cheap, the levels can get a little bland, and sometimes Spider Fox simply doesn't move like you'd want him to. I fell off the edge of hills and platforms because I couldn't judge my distance multiple times. The light friction in the game will probably make a lot of people think this game is very boring. For whatever reason, this game worked for me though. I 100%ed it in about 6 hours and you don't have to do everything to beat the game. I just liked wandering around in the game to go for it all. I won't say go out and buy this, but if it's even remotely interesting to you, at least check out the demo on Steam. I think it's definitely worth two bucks on sale though.
