Itsy Bitsy Spider: Vengeance

6/10 The idea for this game is great, but there are some fatal flaws that keep it from getting a full score. First of all, the game is computer intensive and I found it hard to make it through the levels when it was constantly freezing and at around 5 fps the whole time. However, I do know this could be an issue on my end, so it might depend on the device. Second of all, all the main levels you can by simply by running through them without having to stop to beat any of the enemies. This would be alright if the levels took more time to navigate obstacles. 3rd, I understand there was a boss fight at the end, but I didn't get any checkpoints, so you do have to run through the whole thing again. Other than that the music is great and as I said, the concept is so funny to me. The graphics are great as well and the way you can defy gravity with the wall climbing is great and really sets the mood. With some additional work I think it could be a great game.

The Itsy bitsy spider song left out the part about all the guns. Get to the top of the waterspout and defeat the boss within the time limit! This is a really cool lil' college project, the artstyle is barebones, but kinda great. The levels really make you feel tiny, and the shooting and grappling are generally smooth. (occasionally I'd accidentally grapple INTO a platform and get stuck for a moment, but nothing worse) The only complaint is the combat...which is entirely skippable until the final boss. Because of your movement capabilities you can just...avoid the enemies and run straight to the end showdown. The description says the game is speedrun focused, but the combat being irrelevant kinda defeats the point of it being a shooter....especially with the low time limit practically demanding you keep moving. *Suggestion* This could have used two modes, One with a larger time limit, where a random enemy in each sector holds an item needed to progress, (creating an actual need to fight enemies), and once that mode is cleared, THEN you can have the all-gates-open speedrun mode where you just walk past everybody. ^ all that aside, this is really neat idea, and I enjoyed playing thru it! (twice) It's free and quick, so there's no reason not to check it out. [spoiler]And man, it really was satisfying reaching the top and seeing that big warm sun[/spoiler]

the timer gives it a Fun twist but if you're going to add anything I would recommend that you add a item that can give you more time and more Bosses like somebody who doesn't like spiders and tries to kill you with insecticide would be fun
