Relaxing, silly fun! Love the little animations and kiwi flavor. Great for kids and adults alike, I'd say. Played through all levels to 100% in an hour; would be a great game to pull up and play for a few minutes here and there.

really enjoyed it. would highly recommend this game.
Very fun game, sadly it was over a bit too quickly. The levels are really fun though and really cool to look through.
Kooky indeed. Lots of made up stuff to find in this game. Just like Aotearoa is made up... just like New Zealand is made up. None of it is real! New Zealand is just modern day Narnia!
Kooky offers a light-hearted, doodle-driven spin on the hidden object genre with its focus on New Zealand’s culture and quirks. The game’s charm is rooted in its inviting hand-drawn art and the unexpectedly educational side trips — each scene comes with a bit of local history, providing context for what you’re scouring the picture to find. It’s a nice touch that layers a bit more substance over the basic seek-and-find gameplay. In terms of challenge, Kooky leans toward the easy side. Unlike more intricate hidden object titles, many items are clearly placed and easily spotted, particularly in comparison to the series’ previous entries, where objects blended more deviously into the backgrounds. For newcomers or younger players, this is welcoming, but returning fans might find the sense of discovery lacking — especially with some "kookies" feeling oversized or simply drawn atop the scene rather than woven in. The few trickier finds don’t make up for how quickly the rest reveal themselves. The playtime is notably short; most will wrap things up in under an hour, making it better suited for a casual break or introducing kids to the genre than for deep, drawn-out sessions. At its low price, the brief length might be easier to accept, but those hoping for more substantial content may come away disappointed, especially if they’re coming from earlier games in the series. There are some signs of care, with improvements like the ability to exit and return to a map, and small hint mechanics to avoid frustrating pixel hunts. However, quality-of-life features are still a bit thin—some players have noted the absence of basic options like sound sliders or an easy exit button, which could make things smoother. Ultimately, Kooky is a charming but short experience with cultural tidbits, playful art, and simple searching gameplay. It’s best picked up for an easygoing hour or as a distraction alongside kids, rather than as a challenging or long-lasting addition to a hidden object fan’s library. If you’re supporting local New Zealand developers or just want a quick, cheerful diversion, it’s a pleasant—if fleeting—choice.
