I thought the idea of the game was interesting; shame the developers did not share the interest.
scam
i really like the way the game dose its ambiance! its spooky and THAT IS WHY I SUPPORTED IT!! i think the devs can really be successful in makeing something kinda scary with FPS military dynamics. like their own GTFO. a squad of specialty trained marines that fight off unknown forces like rouge terminator type robots, infections like HALOs flood! or just alien monsters like the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ tiger shark things they have in the game now!! i hope they really go down a more original path with this game! maybe to keep content they can do what destiny dose and do new weekly raids with different types of enemys to keep contents flow. i guess thats just me but i really wana see this game come to life..........

This game was an incredibly ahead of its time realistic shooter with a ton of promise and a very unique vision. If you didn't know, Interstellar Marines had it's origins in an online Flash demo by the same name, which first teased the landshark enemy. Unfortunately, the only landsharks in IM, just like the game, are a dead one you can find in the first coop level "Neurogen incident" The game had a small but burgeoning community in the 2014-2015 timeframe. Unfortunately, plagued by slow development news and massive update delays, the game never got out of the critical phase of giving players new content to keep them satisfied, and with the eventual rushed delivery of possibly one of the earliest "Extraction shooter" based gamemodes in a game "wargames" the game already lacked the player count to even support the competition within that mode, let alone the TDM multiplayer that I quite enjoyed. There's dozens of things I could go into with the history of this game and really a steam review can't do it proper justice. The bot enemies were and still are quite brutal and made coop very challenging as simple run and gun tactics often would get you killed. Modern equivalents may be games such as SCP 5K, which compared to this game makes this one look like a sad husk but at the time this genre of horror game mixed with tactical shooter had a ton of promise. There are about 4(?) full mission stages of various stages of completeness and polish, some with voice acting and audio logs for lore immersion, others with just simple "get to the exit or grab the thing and leave" objectives instead. There were also about 6-8 i believe multiplayer maps, several of which could support up to a 8 v 8 or a 16 v 16 player count TDM. You could also play vs bot and play basically a "kill house" type scenario against armed cyborgs/running bots on the same maps as well. The game had several times of day settings and weather conditions such as rain or fog. There was even one or two maps that had snow i believe as well. As for the Wargames mode, obviously you're never going to get that working today in 2024-eternity, there are no players. but it was basically an extraction shooter gamemode/semi-battle royale gamemode where the objective would be to loot certain weapons and ammo, pick up points caches, and obtain the most points by the end of the match to win or eliminate all other players. You did have to play rather carefully in this gamemode back in the day, because players were very spaced out and the 2 or so different maps they had had a very large size for the movement of the game. Basically there was square 500m x 500m ish sections of maps that would connect together with loading elevators and there were about 8 or so different square sections that you could be on. be careful; i think i remember one of the sections the floor was lava or something, very funny if you fell in by accident or didn't know the floor could kill you. Out of respect for my last played date and For the Love of the Game, I'm leaving this one in the grave and not opening it ever again most likely. Don't buy unless you're a youtuber looking to make a video about dead multiplayer games.
