The core mechanics is simple, you take over planets, build up your colony, go around and take over your enemies' territories while overpowering them with your fleet of ships. The game has no introduction or tutorial, so you have to dive in and try to figure it all out yourself. Fortunately for the basic nature of the game and lack of content, there is only so much to do and figure out before you are on your way to completing the game. Oh, there's also no campaign. You literally run with one from a set of pre-generated maps and populate it with other AI opponent(s) and go. There's the 3 different factions but nothing to tell you what they do or how they differ. There's nothing that gives you ideas on how to progress or advance. You just take turns accruing currency to keep building and expanding, and then engage in fights when needed. There's no save game, you just play each map until your game is over. Or you quit and restart at a later date I guess. Not sure why this basic function is completely omitted, just like a start-up tutorial. Skip over this game and move onto something more interesting. This is not worth your time or money. This game feels like it belongs in the late-90s, not mid-2020s as we are in now. After a few hours, I was wondering what the heck I am doing wasting my time.
I like the concept of the game. However the game still requires some work and content to gain more attention and playability. What could be improved: 1.) When you mouse over on the enemy unit you should know what kind of unit is that. ( missing info ) 2.) The sound effects of the spaceships when they fire could be better. 3.) More maps or random maps generator (this would be a perfect solution) Hope you will find this feedback constructive.
Fun game with a ton of potential. Reminds me of a not quite finished version of Sid Meier's STARSHIPS. Would be nice to see more types of buildings on planets such as cities which are kept fed by farms which in turn are kept going by weather control systems etc all represented by building in the same way the current factory, defenses and market are represented. Being able to upgrade buildings and ships from their starting base would be another nice addition. Having ships and planets take damage from outer space events like magnetic storms, meteor showers, traveling near a blackhole which could also slow the travel speed which could effect a nearby planet under attack which needs reinforcements, Graphics are enjoyable giving a strong tabletop mood to everything that is going on. Sound effects have a certain retro charm to them but could use a slightly more modern sound to them perhaps with another layer over the current sounds to give them a bit more impact and depth. INTERSTELLAR CONQUEST, Buy it! Play it! Travel the vast infinity of space conquering other planets and vanquishing horrific inhuman alien monstrosities!!!
No instructions of any kind. Almost nothing to do. Description makes it sound much more exciting than it is. It's a very basic game, for a very low cost, but it's so basic that it's not fun. Just make one of a few ship types and send them to find other ships to shoot. Conquest consists of clicking on a planet with a ship and waiting.
Interstellar Conquest is, well, Master of Orion but from AliExpress. It's a really bare bones sci-fi themed galactic empire building 4X strategy game, but it's clunky, unpolished and really un-fun to play. There's no tutorial for the game, which is a problem, but luckily the game is so dumbed down compared to other 4X games you can work out how to play pretty quickly. At which point in time you'll wish you hadn't. There's no science tree, you can just build as many of the three different kinds of buildings on each colony as you have slots. There's no colonisation or pop management, just move a fighter over a planet and spend a turn capturing it and it's pumping out the single game currency for you. This is so shallow and pointless, it's not worth bothering with. I never even thought a 4X game could be shallow, but they managed to do it, the maniacs, they blew it all to hell. Sorry, wrong movie. One important note is that even though this is an amateur project, it does seem to be sincerely and genuinely made. I couldn't find any flipped assets, plagiarism or any other kind of insincere actions from the developer, but unfortunately genuine intentions alone are not enough to produce a brilliant PC gaming experience. The game doesn't have any save game features, despite that being a basic standard for all games of this time. The developer might defend this as an attempt to make the game seem more "difficult" without them having to balance the game or do their job properly with engaging and challenging level design, but it's just as likely they simply couldn't work out how to make a save game feature work. Either way, that's a defect that adds another reason for gamers to avoid this game. On the upside, the game does feature customisable controls and resolution, so at least some of the basic, minimum requirements have been met. Unfortunately there's a number of other technical defects and shortcomings which contribute to the game being difficult to recommend to gamers. The game features somewhat lazy, simplistic "retro" looking 2D graphics, of the type you normally expect to see in low effort Flash/browser games and mobile apps. Considering this is being evaluated as a PC game, having the graphics phoned in like this isn't going to result in a high quality, visually impressive game that PC gamers are used to seeing. The developers didn't design the game for modern gaming PCs, as such the display resolution caps out at around 1440p, there's no support for the state-of-the-art 4K or higher resolutions. The game simply won't look right on modern gaming displays due to this failure on the part of the developers. While not necessarily a deal breaker, the game does lack polish and a few elements are a little clunky/unsmooth, this is still rough around the edges. There's also some reports of bugs which may result in a negative user experience. Your mileage may vary on this. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 3 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 100,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 100,000+ games on Steam? Interstellar Conquest has the preposterous price of $10 USD, for which you could easily get any number of older AAA games. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend. For comparison, the $10 asking price for this game could get you games like "Cities: Skylines", "Stellaris" or "Monster Hunter World". Quality, professionally made games like those are frequently on sale cheaper than this.
Profile Features Limited! Valve have marked this game as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the game (to date). Until this status changes, this game will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this game.
Saving not possible! I wouldn't complain, if this were mentioned on the store pabe - but it isn't. If you don't mind that you can't save (nor does the game save automatically when you exit), it's a cheap simple game.
Interstellar Conquest is a fun strategy game, with several map variations and options for the player to test their strategies and knowledge acquired in the game. The various possible combat units and the dynamic rhythm of the game, which punishes the player for his choices, make the game even more enjoyable. I had already played other similar games and so I knew the style well. I really enjoyed Interstellar Conquest. I think the only change that could be made at this point would be the possibility of not having to deselect units, making the game more fluid, since it is currently necessary to deselect a unit to interact with another when using only the mouse for gameplay.
This game is buggy and lousy. It reminded me of a crappy C64 game called galaxy. It was almost like this. You just move icons and shoot and it decides if you hit based on a coin toss or rock paper scissors. Just like it AND IT CRASHES ALOT I don;t mean to be rude but the author needs to redo everything and first before that go look up what makes an interstellar 4x game awesome.
Brother good adjustment, we players waiting for you, hope producers refueling I found a few problems: If a unit is built and cancelled, the money spent is not returned It is possible to build a large number of buildings in one turn. It is recommended to build sequences as well The distance between planets can be increased. Players can build star paths between planets and increase the distance of units in star paths The mobile range of small ships is not obvious Some operations can be optimized, such as capturing a hostile planet if there are no other options available Non-player phase attack sound does not need to be played Unit after action Cancel action button does not work Move the map automatically when the mouse is on the edge The lower left corner of an enemy unit displays its properties when it is clicked Click untranslated in the bottom right corner of the planet
