International Space Station Tour VR

International Space Station Tour VR is a VR experience program. It worked on my HTC Vive and Index system, looked good, played ok, sounded good. It is a tour of the International Space Station using 360 pictures, textual labels and 2D video. Has a good UI. You move to different sections of the station and look 360 degrees for the hotspots for videos or doors. Mostly presented by astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti. She was understandable as English speaker for an Italian and pretty too. What a borefest. You might as well watch videos about this station on YouTube because there is no 3D. This is just a bunch of 360 photos with videos. And the photos are blurry. However if you are able to survive 30 minutes of this boring app, you unlock a 3D prop of the station to use in SteamVR Home. Worth it?...

The scale is way off in this experience. You feel about the size of a mouse. Also, you are looking at 360 images so, whilst it looks good on a screen, in VR it completely lacks depth and can't react to head or body movement. There is no transition between areas. You just jump to the next room so it feels quite disorienting and disconnected from reality. I know it's free so i's probably unrealistic to expect an experience that actually feels like you are in the ISS, but I think this would definitely work far better on a monitor.

It's all very interesting information, and the videos are all taken right within the ISS itself. There are even a few instances of stellar videography showcasing the breathtaking views of Earth from orbit. For a 2018 VR release, International Space Station Tour VR is pretty underwhelming in terms of what virtual reality is supposed to offer. It's just a bunch of flat videos on 360-degree still shots, and it would be no different than if you were to just watch these videos on say, YouTube. The locomotion is also very simple, being of a point-and-click nature. However, it is a decent educational release that's very interesting if you have any interest at all in NASA, astronauts and their lifestyle, or space in general. [h1]International Space Station Tour VR[/h1] É um app onde você é colocado na estação espacial internacional e lá você vai avançando pelos módulos, podendo em cada um deles interagir com alguns objetos que te explica em forma de videos sobre o funcionamento de determinados objetos e componentes da estação. Algumas coisas achei interessantes, mas outras nem tanto, então acho que pode ser o mais ideal pra quem tem interesse nesse tipo de assunto. É necessário além de ter um VR, saber inglês e entender bem pois os vídeos estão em inglês e sem legenda.
