I don't remember how I got this game... probably from a Fanatical bundle years ago? Decided to try it because I saw the game now has Steam Trading Cards available. The game itself, in terms of gameplay and level design, is mostly OK. Personally, I'm not a fan of the punishing mechanic of "zero checkpoints you gotta start the entire level from the beginning if you fail haha"... but that's just me. And as another reviewer mentioned, being in first person makes it extra difficult to measure how far you are from any red block or ledge. With that said, I would've recommended this small indie game to anyone who likes punishing platformers, but only on sale, with a 90% off discount... as long as its standard price was reasonably cheap. However, according to SteamDB, the devs/publisher jacked up the price tremendously on August of 2023, and frequently put the game on sale with a 90-95% discount. To me, doing that is pretty dishonest. And another reviewer mentioned this game is actually an asset flip. Because of those reasons, [b]I do NOT recommend you ever buy Instant Death.[/b] Just watch a video on YouTube if you are that curious about it. It seems this game actually got attention from a few prolific YouTubers back in the day.
